We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Liviu Tanase. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Liviu below.
Liviu, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
The ultimate goal for us at ZeroBounce is to play some part in our customers’ success. Bad email data is ubiquitous, and our mission is to help people identify it so it can be cut out.
There are always great things we hear from our customers, but I’d like to share one case with Joanna Weibe of Copyhackers, the original conversion copywriter. She has a substantial email list, and would sometimes migrate to new email marketing platforms. Instead of waiting until there was a problem, Weibe took a preventative approach. As it turns out the list was in very good shape. Through regular email validation, she can be certain that it will stay that way.
There’s also the case of Gene Massey of MediaShares. They help businesses raise capital by using online offerings. Their bounce rates were getting up there at 12% and at one point their email service provider (ESP) bailed on them. Things had gotten out of hand.
They tried a competitor, but their high bounce rate still had them stalled. ZeroBounce was able to clean out their bad data which allowed for a total rehabilitation. Now they’re able to send emails with confidence.
These two cases are great because they show both the prevention and cure that ZeroBounce allows. We serve more than 200,000 customers, so there are so many more similar stories. It’s results like these that motivate us the most.
Liviu, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I didn’t become a tech guy, I feel like I was born that way! As a kid growing up in the ‘90s, I was fascinated by technology and loved spending time on the internet. By 18, I’d started my first business selling computers.
Several other businesses followed, and I found myself being more and more interested and focused on email and the technology behind it.
ZeroBounce was mainly born out of necessity. Email lists eventually become obsolete when people abandon and change email addresses. There’s also a lot of bad email address types that don’t belong on any email list.
We were trying to clean some email databases. Sure, there were other services out there, but I was excited about the idea of making a comprehensive email validation system.
Our mission is simple, and we like to make the service as clear-cut as possible. We help you reach the inbox, because that’s where your emails have the best chance of getting seen. If you’re not in the inbox, you’re nowhere. Along with an email verifier, we have a whole host of other tools – all designed to give you an advantage in obtaining better email deliverability.
More than 200,000 companies use ZeroBounce for this purpose. We have every kind of client you can imagine. From small sole proprietors to internationally known brands like Amazon, Disney, and Sephora. If you’re using email marketing or even transactional emails, you need a good email verifier.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Our product is always reliable. Customers come back to us again and again because they see how much better their email data is. When you expunge poor or harmful email addresses, you’ll get better results. You also avoid hassles like wasted time and expenses.
Another aspect that has contributed to our reputation in the email space is how we interact with the public. ZeroBounce was the first email verification company to offer 24/7 live customer support. There is always someone there, every minute of the day, 365 days of the year, 366 on leap year. That’s how serious we are about being available.
We take this same awareness of presence to the media. ZeroBounce is and strives to be a part of the public conversation about email. Even going beyond our sphere, we want to make email better for everybody. My team and I love interacting with the press. It fills us with ideas and it’s been rewarding to see that our contributions have been helping marketers and business owners get better email results. You never know who’s reading, and we’ve made a lot of genuine connections through the media.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
It’s surely not shocking that an email validation service uses email to keep in touch with customers. Email is a fantastic way to stay connected, especially if you’re keeping your email list in great shape.
ZeroBounce also encourages two-way communication at all times. We don’t just want to talk to our customers, but we want to listen just as much. We look at every review, email, social media comment, and consider all opinions and feedback as priceless.
We wouldn’t exist without our clients. They shouldn’t have to cater to our whims, but rather we want to cater to their needs. If customers want something, we do everything within reason to get it for them. There are many improvements we’ve made to the platform based 100% on customer feedback.
Also, we’ve developed a few tools as a result of multiple customer requests. Our latest one is an email finder that provides valid email addresses. Customers know that we listen to their feedback and always strive to fulfill their needs. It’s a great way to build loyalty, and it’s in our company DNA.
