We were lucky to catch up with Joan of Angels recently and have shared our conversation below.

Joan of, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?

I enjoy being a creative person and having the ability to bring some of my visions to life. Working for myself allows me control over my time and energy, where i want to focus my attention. I’d rather worker harder for myself, than be working for others. I ran a very successful chiropractic office in Berkeley for almost 20 years, and enjoyed the healing arts as well as the business side.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

In 2013, i returned to Los Angeles after an intensive break up and realizing I needed a new direction. I was virtually penniless but committed to transformation. I knew most of all, I needed a miracle.

It was Halloween evening, 2013, and I was desperate. I heard a voice in my
ear, suggesting I paint 33 angels in 30 days. The voice was persistent. I explained I didn’t know how to paint faces, and said no. The voice persisted a second time. and again I had a lot of reasons to say no….not enough time. too much work, where do you put 30 paintings, etc, all excuses as to why I wouldn’t do this. By the third time, I knew that if I didn’t say yes. they wouldn’t ask again, and that I might just be missing the answer to my prayers, by saying no.

Thus I began painting 33 angels in 30 days, or 30 canvases filled with angels. The work and the energy that was created was a direct result of the communication I began having with the angels. They explained I was needed as a paintbrush so humanity could see what the angels and their realms look like.

When I had finished the project.a book fell off the wall, and I found myself reading these words: ” Your call for angelic assistance has been heard. ”

Because of this, I continued painting. In 2015, I was guided to share the painting of Archangel Gabriel with a new friend, Josie. She informed me Gabriel wished to speak with me, and proceeded to channel him directly. He told me straight away, i was to move to the desert so I could hear their messages easily. I would be trained in receiving these energies.

Two days after moving to Desert Hot Springs, I was having breakfast in the local coffee shop being introduced to a new friend. She suddenly stopped and stared at me, stating, “What did you say your name is?” As i was replying with my name, she stopped me, put her hand up, and said, loud and clear, ” I know who you are. You’re Joan of………Angels!: I was sure she was going to say Joan of Arc but when i heard Joan of Angels, a beautiful feeling flowed through me, and I knew she was right.

Being named Joan of Angels though, and feeling like her, were two different stories. I remember when I designed my new business cards and went shopping in LA with my daughter. We were talking to this new couple we had just met in the shop; i reached into my purse to give them my card, which said, Joan of Angels. To be honest, I was confused about what to to tell them. My daughter was appalled and pulled me aside, mortified her mother was suddenly Joan of Angels in public.

I have to admit, it took me almost 7 years of living in the desert to understand why I was given this name, and what it meant for me to walk in the world as her.

Over the years I painted hundreds of canvases of angels, temples, and portals, or doorways to the other realms. I also began diving into digital photography, and converted some of my art into digital masterpieces. I began to do events, workshops, on feeling the presence of the angels, and connecting to their messages.

At the same time, I continued to offer private counseling sessions, working as an intuitive, a spiritual counselor helping people remember why they are here, and how to access their unique and special gifts. In fact, I continue to offer sessions as an intuitive guide and as the Oracle of Ancient Wisdom. I show people their beauty and their true gifts, and help release what no longer serves.

One thing I have noticed, is that many people don’t trust their own inner voice or the visions they see. I support and assist you by helping you see who you really are and what you are here to do. I help you see how powerful you are, and your importance to the ascension of the planet as you learn to trust your own gifts and skills.

I love helping people find their way, and learn to hear the messages from their spiritual team. Its a special form of empowerment, when you understand why you are here.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

I will never forget the day my mother and my brother teamed up to tell me to never be an artist. They both wanted me to promise them, I would never consider it as a career. The only career I could pursue according to them, was to be a book keeper or an accountant, like my father. The entire incident feels out of character, as I was a dreamer all my life, an avid book reader, and very shy. I wasn’t that good with numbers, and definitely not an artist.

My father sent me to college to become an elementary school teacher, as it was the career he had chosen for me. According to him, teaching was a way I could have holidays and vacations with my kids and he forbade me from studying anything else

I wasn’t cut out to be a teacher, and I was scared to stand up in front of the class. So scared that I flunked student teaching and almost didn’t graduate until I promised my advisor I would never teach. He allowed me to squeak by and graduate.

I wasn’t a particularly great student and very shy. Doing what my parents wanted, did not prove successful. In fact, my father died when I was in my early ’20’s, and suddenly I felt free to live my own life. I earned a Masters in Counseling and enrolled in chiropractic school.

My life took on new meaning, and I very much enjoyed being a chiropractor, and waking up every day inspiring my patients to live healthier and happier lives. I dedicated my life to helping people let go of the attitudes and fears they may have, that no longer serve them. I learned to communicate and do readings, helping to look at the energies that keep us stuck and in repetitive cycles of chaos or fear.

What I discovered about myself is that when I am aligned with what I am doing, I am excited and passionate. I can work 24/7 in a creative flow and energize those around me. I love the feeling that comes with creative surges of energy and in working with us to manifest that which is just a vision or dream. I love teaching and sharing and feel I was born for it.

Now, I have left the desert and are on another path, this time of traveling, teaching and learning. I am creating art as I go, with visions from other worlds and dimensions, and other inter dimensional beings. I love speaking on a large stage in person and inspiring people to become their best selves, and live their best lives to their fullest potential. I know what its like to be fearful of your destiny, and am passionate about helping others release their fears.

I love showing you how to step into your destiny and become the person you have dreamed you could be.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

I’ve had to unlearn the limiting beliefs of society and of what my parents tried to impose upon me. I’ve had to trust that inner voice within me that knew I had creative talents, that encouraged me to speak up and believe in myself and transform into someone new.

I learned how to let go of what no longer serves, and transmute the energies into fuel for my own growth. And most important, i learned that who I am is needed, as a part of the whole. That each of us, you and me, were born with a very special mission or unique destiny but we need to find out for ourselves what that is, and trust what we are being shown. Its a courageous act to follow the voice of spirit, that intuitive voice you have.

But when we do listen to the inner guidance, your life flows in a productive, exciting and synchronistic way and far better than we could image.

I see it as one of my roles to help others believe in their dreams, and to develop their skills to step into this vision and allow it to unfold.
