Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to MarSha Joseph. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
MarSha, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Carrier of the Flame LLC is my initial business name. Solai Customs is one of the many entity branches that stems from COTF. The idea of my business found me. I worked in corporate America but always found myself joining creative teams and leading company workouts and field days. Due to medical reasons I ended up resigning and all my hobbies became my way of making income. From a group fitness instructor to Personal trainer to Jewelry Designer I have found a way to bring them all together under one umbrella. I knew this endeavor was worthwhile when I began to see the transformation in my clients level of confidence as well as them embracing and pursuing their own creativity and boldness.
I never wondered if it would work or not. I just do it. My goal is always to ignite a flame within each and every individual I come across rather it be through he or she wearing one of my unique custom pieces or training. Seeing them smile and satisfied brings forth a sense of accomplishment and success.
I believe my approach in all that i do is favored as unique in build simply because it gives the individual wearer the opportunity to actually physically wear what they see. Whereas for me it gives me the opportunity to bring their vision to life. Solai Customs is truly the Goddess of love and light.
MarSha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I love to create. When I was younger I would go to Claire’s and buy the body chains, arm cuffs, toe rings, etc. I would collect broken jewelry and recreate it the pieces to something fresh and new.
I carried this over into my Waistbead business.
The services I offer are as follows
Author, Book Publishing, Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Notary, Real Estate Agent, Custom Jewelry Designer
I tend to help my clients build confidence and complete task as well fulfill dreams.
I am genuine and fun. My main take away for clients is to understand that you are unique. People buy you, your gift, your personality. So there is no competition and no such thing as rejection. There is only protection or redirection.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Because my business started as a hobby I had to back track and establish it as a real business. I met a gentlemen that is an expert at digital marketing. After sitting with him I realized I had a plethora of things to establish to make my business legitimate and more accessible. During this pivot I created my Shopify account, website, began tagging products, etc.
Coming out of corporate America to running a business was a huge shift for me. Being that everything I now do was just a hobby i truly believe getting established was the most important transitional phase for me.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
I started with pre-orders to fund my business. I also put in a few dollars of my own.
