Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jenna Galbo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Jenna thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you get your first job in the field that you practice in today?
At the time, I was single living in Manhattan fresh out of college. A friend of the family was a director of Easter Seals located in the South Bronx. I inquired about an opening at the center at the time and there was for a special education teacher. I was hired as a special education teacher working with children with varying exceptionalities.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am native New Yorker and founder of Levitated Learning LLC. I obtained my Masters of Science in Early Childhood with a concentration in Special Education at the College of New Rochelle. Growing up I personally struggled in school because of my own learning disability. As I navigated my academic career there were little resources for individuals who had different learning styles. I can still recall the feeling of frustration when I think of my own school experience. Since then I had a deep aspiration to work with individuals like myself; to give them appropriate resources and supports. I started my career in the Bronx, New York as a special education teacher. I worked for Easter Seals which is an organization with individuals with varying exceptionalities from birth to five years old. When moving from NY to Florida, I continued to work with the special education population. As time proceeded I found myself wanting to bring the supports and services to a larger platform. At that pivotal moment is when Levitated Learning was born. We are a multi disciplinary organization providing ABA therapy, early intervention therapy and educational consultation. Levitated Learning believes the best success for our clients is when we acknowledge the “Whole Child… Whole Vision” approach. This approach looks at the “Whole” child not just a portion. This solid belief, requires all stakeholders at Levitated Learning to look at each client and consider their individual needs. We are dedicated to help empower our clients to be fully respected, independent individuals within society. I am most proud of being able to give back to individuals like myself and continue to educate the community.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
My learning disability is what demonstrates resilience. I attended an all girl’s Catholic high school in White Plains, NY, at the time the school was ran by nuns. As I decided what I could study in college I met with my guidance counselor; I can remember it like it was yesterday. As she was reviewing my file I could see her thinking. She turned to me and reviewed the academic expectations colleges have to possibly attend their school. At that point she told me ” college is not for everyone and based on my performance she doubted I would be able to enroll.” Remember, back then the resources were not prominent especially in the private sector. That day I went home visibly upset and told my parents what transpired that day. My parents would always tell me “you can do anything as long as you believe in yourself”. After that day I took that life advice and made it my mantra til today. I went onto college, graduated with a Bachelors in Arts. From there I embarked on a Masters degree in Science, which I graduated with honors. Today I am the founder and president of Levitated Learning because of the belief my parents instilled in me and pure resilience.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy in growing my clientele is building honest transparent relationships. Each client’s needs are completely different compared to another client. We have parents who come to us so we can help their child. You can see the desperation on their face when they meet with us. It is there where having and honest trusting relationship is imperative. When there is a rapport with the family you can literally move mountains.
