Kai , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.

I think that often times in life, a lot of people are afraid of the unknown and are afraid to take a risk. My entire creative career has been about risks and just pursing what I love. It isn’t all flowers and sunshine, but that’s the fun in it. The biggest risk for me was packing up my entire life and moving to LA. I moved here in pursue of being a creative and ever since I made the decision to take the risk, it’s been a fun journey. The beginning is never fun but once you continue to believe in yourself and never give up, everything starts to work out. I always believed in myself and I bet on myself with everything. That’s why taking a risk and a leap a faith worked for me. I think with the mindset, the opportunities are endless for anyone.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I am a Bahamian actor, content creator and model. My journey started at a very young age and I was heavily inspired by Will Smith from “The Fresh Prince of Belair”. My family always encouraged me to pursue the entertainment industry, but I didn’t fully get invested until I was in college. I was studying journalism and I started to find my love and passion for creating and being in front of the camera.

I am most proud of how far I have come. From major campaigns for brands such as Nike, Puma and Gillette. To working on set as a full time actor. Being from a small country, not everyone is afforded the same opportunity I have been given. I am very proud of where I am from (The Bahamas) and everything I do, I want to make sure I am doing it for/representing my country.

I want people to know me for being relentless and just always creating opportunity, instead of waiting for one. I am firm believer in “betting on yourself”. Ever since I have done that, my career started to work itself out.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

I built my audience on social media by staying consistent and being authentic. The internet and the people who are on the internet want what they are interested in, to be consistent and authentic.

For anyone starting to build their own “brand”, think out of the box and figure out how you can make yourself stand out from everyone else. The more different, the better.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

To me the most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative is the joy in accomplishing the goals you set out for yourself. It isn’t easy being a creative but it’s always fun when you see progress and you see what you can accomplish. I also think leaving a positive impact in people’s life is most rewarding. Knowing that you were able to encourage/inspire someone, is one of the greatest gifts of all.
