Alright, Zeelie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
My goal is to create a safe and welcoming space where individuals can discover their own unique definition of beauty. With over seventy lingerie styles available in sizes ranging from 5x to xs, I am dedicated to ensuring that everyone can find something that fits their body type and personal style.
I aspire for my boutique to be remembered as a place of love, acceptance, and positivity. I want to be known for the lives I have touched, such as the mother who found confidence in her post-baby body, the sixty-five year old woman who experienced the joy of a properly fitting bra for the first time, the young man who felt comfortable shopping for his first bralette, and the single dad who received guidance in helping his daughter find her first bra.
Ultimately, I hope to be remembered for the positive impact I have had on people’s lives by helping them feel confident and beautiful in their own skin.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
In October of 2022, I opened my small business after separating from the Marine Corps and spending a few months as a stay-at-home mom. Despite having accomplished so much in my life, I knew there was more I wanted to do.
I am passionate about body positivity and sexual wellness and wanted to create a welcoming space where people could comfortably explore their own beauty and intimacy. As lingerie and sexual wellness are such personal experiences, I wanted to ensure that the shopping experience reflected that same level of intimacy.
Moreover, I am committed to making my boutique a place where “all are welcome.” It is my belief that anyone, regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, or background, should feel accepted and loved when walking through my doors.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Interacting with so many individuals on a regular basis has allowed me to forge personal relationships with many of them. As I am present in the store every day, I provide direct assistance to each customer, utilizing my attention to detail, knowledge of bra fittings, and product expertise to curate their shopping experience. On the rare occasion that I do not have a product suitable for a customer, I direct them to other businesses that may be able to assist them.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Residing in a military town provides me with a constant influx of new customers. I have leveraged my connections with local military spouse groups and small businesses to continually expand my clientele. I prioritize my presence in the community by engaging with these groups, utilizing social media, and participating in vendor events.
