We recently connected with Jacqueline Reagor and have shared our conversation below.
Jacqueline, appreciate you joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
Honestly, no.
I feel like everything I have experienced up until this point has only benefited me in my work as a creative. By working in the hospitality industry, I have learned that achieving a standard of excellence in any endeavor requires preparation, integrity, and commitment.
By working in the fashion and entertainment industries, I learned the importance of being flexible, how to balance an unorthodox work schedule, and how to handle rejection gracefully.
I wouldn’t be where I am today without those experiences and the skills I have acquired along the way so I believe that I started my creative career at the perfect time!
Jacqueline, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a 25 year old curve model, actress, and event planner who currently works in digital marketing for the Loud. Agency in Dallas. I am incredibly grateful to be part of a creative team that prioritizes working with small businesses and independent creatives nationwide with branding and social media management.
Whether it is in my personal or professional life, I actively live my life with a “Yes, and” mentality-there is always something to learn from any experience but you will never know if you don’t try.
Because of this, I’m known as the “Jac. of All Trades” and have the ability to adapt and apply my organization, communication, and problem solving skills to any situation. (And believe me, MacGyver would be proud!)
My formal education and professional experience is predominantly in hospitality and event management- I am actually a Certified Wedding and Event Planner! I have helped plan, design, and execute all types of events, including weddings, corporate meetings, and non-profit fundraisers. I also participated in the Disney College Program and worked as a Front Desk Cast Member at Walt Disney World! Through this training and experience, I quickly learned how to work in a high-volume and fast paced environment while simultaneously maintaining high standards. (How else would the magic happen?!)
More recently, I have begun working in the fashion and entertainment industries as a model and actress. I was scouted by the owner of a local agency when I was 17 but didn’t starting working as a model until I was 23.
What may surprise some people is that being a model was never my goal- I always saw myself working behind-the-scenes and out of the spotlight as an event planner. Despite this, I quickly realized that this was an opportunity to reach a new audience and saw that I could be the kind of person I myself needed when I was younger- a confident, curvy woman who empowers others. I am grateful to have representation that also shares these values. My manager, Megan Mesveskas, worked as a model for 10 years and is the founder of Model Nexus, a global mother agency specializing in body diversity.
Regardless if it’s on-set at an editorial photoshoot, an intimate wedding, or during a client’s branding session–I hope to make others feel seen, heard, and happy.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Personally, my goal is to be a creative that makes people feel empowered to be themselves. I want to use my image and platform to celebrate body diversity and individuality.
At the same time, I want to collaborate with other creatives, who also share these values, and work together to create unique works of art. While the majority of my work in the front of the camera, I also love the production side. In addition to modeling, I have also worked as a photographer and creative director- I’m always looking for new creative opportunities no matter the artistic medium!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding part about being a creative is the responses I get from those who see my work! By talking about my own experiences as a curvy woman on social media and seeing how people react when they feel seen and heard is incredible.
It is also amazing when you see the finished product of a project you worked on…so many people came together to make that photo or commercial or feature film a reality and I’m proud to be part of this creative movement.
