Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Erica Hickman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Erica, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I became a professional travel consultant/planner in 2020, one of the most challenging times to make that decision, in the midst of Covid. I had no doubt that eventually travel would resume. It was the perfect time to start training while business had slowed down tremendously.
For years I have worked as an unpaid travel agent. I am the friend or relative that seemed to always put all the trips together. I have always loved to travel and putting trips together was a pleasure for me. It started out with planning family trips and girls trips. It got to the point before one trip was ending, they would say “where are we going next?” Next thing I knew I was the one responsible for planning our next trip.
I believe that I am unique because I truly have a passion for providing the best customer service. I try to build relationships with my customers which in turn leads them to be clients. I thrive on creating an experience that I hope my clients will have fond memories of and will always cherish. The best customer service is to treat others how you would like to be treated, with respect and honesty.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I believe most of this was answered in the last question.
I am proud to say that I specialize in Domestic and Caribbean travel, I have had the pleasure of traveling to Jamaica, Cancun, Cabo, Panama, Aruba, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic. I have visited multiple cities and states in the United States. Because I want my clients to have the best experience, I recommend brands that I am familiar with and provides the best upscale luxury services. The preference is four or five hotels and resorts.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele is plain and simple. I provide top notch customer service, by catering to their needs. This keeps my clients very satisfied with me and in turn they recommend my services to their family and friends.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I keep in touch with my clients by email and phone text. I also engage with them on social media platforms.
