We recently connected with Loren Howard and have shared our conversation below.
Loren, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I would say the biggest risk I have ever taken was starting my own company and becoming an entrepreneur. It wasn’t an easy thing to do and despite all the bumps in the road along the way, I have paved my own way to success.
Before business, I wanted to play in the NFL and had to completely change the goal for my future after I was injured. I was always a driven and hard-working person so creating something on my own was fascinating. I decided to take a risk and start my own business. While the thrill of being my own boss was exciting, there was so much about starting a company and being an entrepreneur that I just did not know.
For my first company, I was laser-focused on getting the technical aspects of business correct. While having the technicalities are great, it doesn’t guarantee that your company is a success. I now refer to my first business as my MBA as it taught me so much about how to run a successful company.
Despite the first business not being a success, all the lessons learned led me to try again and find success elsewhere, which I have been able to replicate in many industries.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started this company when I was a real estate investor and I could see there was a real need in the market for a hard money lender. Combining my knowledge of real estate investing and the connections I already had, starting this business was a smart match.
We want to make the real estate investing experience fast and easy. That is the way we offer hassle-free funding, so real estate investors can spend time on what matters most to them, investing in their properties, not on paperwork.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
I think every business knows that referrals are the best source of clients. Every positive interaction you have with a client can lead to faster and easier sales down the line. If you can build a solid reputation for your business, you can easily create a system of generating new leads through your referrals.
I was a real estate investor before I started Prime Plus Mortgages so I had a built network of real estate investors that helped us create the VIP customer experience, and who were able to help me build my referral network.
Outside of referrals one of the top ways we have attracted new business is through our SEO (search engine optimization) efforts. We put a lot of focus on having useful content that informs potential investors both on our website and through our guest posting efforts.
We also want to provide a great hard money loan experience, which for many first-time investors starts on your website. So having a fast site, relevant information, clean copy, and related keywords are key. In this day and age having a great website is a necessity to survive and keep leads flowing for your business.

Customer loyalty is one of the most important ways to keep customers and build referrals. The most important way to foster brand loyalty is to ensure that after the initial sale you follow up with your customers and you don’t leave them in the dark.
Help your customers on what to expect next, such as payments, support lines, and any other information, and give follow-up calls to ensure that they have all the information they need. By providing support calls you can help your clients have a better experience, and express your appreciation for them to work with you.
