Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lawren. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Lawren thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
I had just graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. I was working a 9to 5 which I still do today and those student loan emails started pouring in.I thought to myself what can I do to make extra money. I thought long and hard and started writing down ideas while at work. I looked down at my wrist and thought jewelry I can sell jewelry! I immediately started searching online for wholesale vendors. I than realized I had to register my business, obtain a EIN, think of a name. I made my wholesale order which included bracelets and sun glasses. I attended a family’s event and told everyone I had a few things for sale. I sold out of everything that day thanks to my family and that is when Lawren Jewelry Box was officially started.
I then applied for my LLC filed other documents, bank accounts and started my very first Business Instagram account. I took a step further and purchased a domain name and researched different website builders until I found one right for me.

Lawren, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I was born and raised in Philadelphia I attended Public school. Graduated with my Associates, Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Master’s in Organizational Leadership. I have worked in the Legal field for over 10 years and I continue to work in the field. I started making jewelry in 2020 during the Pandemic. I decided to rebrand my business and incorporate new ideas and marketing techniques. I started with applying charms to bangles and gradually started creating beaded jewelry from different types of beads and crystals. Making jewelry has became one of my favorite things to do. I love being creative and also love when my customers receive their one of kind pieces.
I am most proud of the progress I have made over the years. I took the time to research and familiarize myself with using social media platforms to help with sales. I enjoy providing jewelry for women, men and kids.
I think what sets me apart from others is I build personal relationships with my customers. I am available to answer all questions big and small. My jewelry is unique yet affordable, it’s fashionable yet classic.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I am here to tell you that you do not need thousands of followers to makes sales. I am still building my social media platform. I do not have a lot followers but I do have returning customers and that’s what matters. I started another social media page in 2020 when I rebranded my business. I have built my pages organically and I am still growing.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I learned that just because you post a pretty picture you still have to tell a story. A item does not sell it self it has be introduced to the audience, people want to why they should purchase from you. A potential customer also wants to know the benefits of a item.
