Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alberto Anaya. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Alberto thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
I went through the traditional path as a composer at different conservatories in Europe, which involved several years of intensive training from a very early age. While this approach had its pros and cons, I don’t think there is a better way to learn.
Later on, I was fortunate enough to receive a Fulbright Scholarship to attend NYU’s Master’s program in Scoring for Film, TV, and Video Games. During my time there, I focused mostly on electives from the Sound Engineering Master’s program and read many exceptional books while working on independent projects and student films. This is how I learned to do what I do.
Looking back, I realize that it would have been beneficial to start learning about the music industry and how to build a sustainable career earlier on. However, I’m not sure if I could have done that on my own back then, as I lived miles away from any city that could offer career opportunities for people like me.
Money and connections have always been major obstacles to learning and success, regardless of where you live. I consider myself fortunate to have been born in a developed country, but my working-class family had no money or connections in the arts or film industry. This made it challenging to pursue my interests and ambitions. Nevertheless, I was fortunate to have access to the internet and had the support of incredible teachers and my wonderful family, to whom I owe everything that I am and everything that I learned today.
Alberto, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My company offers Complete Music and Audio Post-Production Services for filmmakers worldwide. Our services include Sound Design with Foley and Ambiences, Audio Repairing, Dialogue Editing and Surround Mixing in addition to Fully Produced Music. You’ll walk away with everything done and meticulously taken care of.
Thanks to my extensive academic background, I have been in charge of both music and audio post-production since my first independent short film project. So I woke up in LA one day, teamed up with some incredibly talented people and had the best idea that I’ve ever had in my life.
I founded solvaudio.com

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Delivering the best possible work with what we are given is what has contributed the most to building our reputation.
Our commitment and ability to take care of the audio as a whole, including the music, gives us a wider room for improving the final product in post, and clients express appreciation for this, resulting in positive feedback and word-of-mouth recommendations.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The quality of our work, despite any limitations, is the key to our success, as mentioned in response to your previous question.
Our primary method of outreach is through email, and although it can be challenging, each consultation request often leads to more than one new client.
We offer a referral program where existing clients can earn a 10% commission for each new client they bring in. They can choose to apply a 15% discount to their total bill as well if they bring us a client.
