We recently connected with Mutmainah Adeyemi and have shared our conversation below.
Mutmainah, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
One of the risks I have taken recently is related to my love for traveling. I have experienced missing out on so many great places and deals because of friends who always cancelled or just were unavailable. This was around the time I got my first ‘big girl job’ living rent free with my parents so I was eager to use this opportunity to explore the world. I got tired of waiting on people or dealing with people who constantly cancelled on me and decided to take the risk of going to a country solo, by myself. My first trip was in the U.S, Tampa Florida to be specific. I decided to start small as it was something new for me. I absolutely enjoyed my time there although I was alone so I knew I was ready for a solo trip outside of the U.S. I did some research and immediately fell in love with Colombia ,Cartagena. Before I knew it, I was living a dream all because I decided to take the risk and not wait on anyone. Solo travel is something I think everyone should experience in their lifetime. The feeling of doing things when and how you want to do it and even meeting other solo travelers was amazing. Colombia has a a special place in my heart.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I would firstly like to say that, l would consider myself as an individual who is still working very hard to build my audience on social media. However, what has worked for me this far is really being myself. I would describe myself as an extroverted outgoing individual who enjoys taking risks. This Is exactly what I show my audience, my authentic self. I also find that sharing information has grown my audience as that is now one of the powers of social media. I make sure I am very transparent about prices and reviews of what I showcase on my platform.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a content creator is that I am also doing something I enjoy while also helping others. I enjoy engaging with my audience on my social media platforms to assist them in planning their trips.
