We were lucky to catch up with Patrick Mitchell recently and have shared our conversation below.
Patrick, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
When I were younger I use to draw so I always knew that I wanted to be a part of art. I found photography because I would notice when i would watch horror films I would always watch how the film was shot and the angles and when i watched award shows my eyes would alway move to the behind the scenes and thats when I knew that I wanted to do creative photography.

Patrick, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
An inspired, self-taught photographer, harnesses light and shadows to provide riveting tones and textures in each photo. I enjoy pushing envelopes—and pushes myself to creative extremes. I try to captures the essence of your reality, unuttered emotions and dreamed impressions. I go above and beyond for my clients. I provide fashion, birthdays, weddings, you name it and i’ll deliver.
from frame-by-frame I try to deliver my best, I prepare storyboards for my shoots; I bends, manipulate, and twists subjects into captivating poses until the story is brought to life: Gravity-defying hairs that whisper on the wind, sun-licked skin that radiates the fierceness of a glance, an elegant quadricep that explores the juxtaposition of grace and power; the frolicsome whimsy of a family. being able to have my clients trust what i do makes me proud because it shows that i out in a lot of work over these 19 years for them to come and just relax.
Bring your soul, bring your glamour, bring that do that only you can do. Your limits will be stretched and your creativity will soar.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One thing I had to learn is that you can not please everyone and to stick to your word when it comes to your integrity and pricing, I love to be paid for my work but also had to realize that I know how to find a opportunity when a check isn’t attached, That very important. As a kid I were very shy and stayed to myself, didn’t bother and one and stayed out the way but knew there were something bigger I wanted to do. As I got older and found photography I were able to step outside the box and not fit into the norm and my work reflects that.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
I don’t think some understand the time and effort it takes to become the best version of you, they may think I take a picture and just give it back as is and thats so far from the truth. The hours and hours of editing time can be exhausting but the clients depend on us, some act like we are too expensive but not understanding, do you want quality or quantity? we are so much more than just a photographer. Sometimes we have to be a stylist, a counselor if a client having a bad day, we have to be motivating and encouraging, we have to always have a good attitude no matter what is going on.
