We recently connected with Renee Dominguez and have shared our conversation below.
Renee, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
From the outside looking in – I was a success. I went to the right schools, had the right degrees, the right jobs, the right job titles, and the salary, but what people didn’t know was that I was a hot mess inside. I was a strong female in a man’s world. I was the only woman in the room for most of my career. I was either continued made to feel small, insignificant or had my seat taken away from the table. It all finally came to a head when my CFO (who I reported to) called me into his office and brought up a list of things he thinks “I did wrong”. I had it by then and quit on the spot. No thought into it, no plans, no idea what I was saying or doing. I had just had enough. I left right then and there having no idea what I just did. In the shock of what I just did, I decided to go all in on starting my own business using all my savings and resources available to me. I had no idea what it meant to be an entrepreneur except for finally doing things on my terms. My husband was freaking out but stood behind me 100%. I had to tap into my intuition and faith that the universe was co-creating with me. This risk is not for the faint of heart. It takes relentless determination and radical honesty on the “why” of what I was doing. Even when I had only $1.00 in the bank, I never gave up on my dream.
Looking back, if things didn’t happen the way they did, I would still be in my soul-sucking job and probably had a few meltdowns and anxiety attacks along the way. I can now be thankful for the universe throwing me off the cliff to spread my wings to fly. I now have a successful business that gives me the opportunity to support other female leaders to tap into their bigger purpose so they too can live life on their terms.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

WHERE EVERY WOMAN FEELS EMPOWERED TO STEP INTO HER WORTH AND OWN IT
What I’m most proud of is having the ability to create a safe space for my clients to trust me (even though they may be cursing my name) to break through their own personal glass ceiling and step into their next level of success, with ease. The transformations have been incredible. From one client doubling her salary by creating her dream job description and landing the job, one client going from playing small and being miserable each and every day, to creating her own business and landing her first $45k client project within 30 days. The stories go on and on. When you have the right support team – you become unstoppable.
I’m the coach for female professionals and entrepreneurs who are ready to disrupt the status quo of what is perceived to be ‘normal’ — and help them break free of old archaic systems.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson or habit I had to unlearn from my backstory is that I have to do everything alone. That success has to be created alone, and it has to be hard, it has to hurt, and it has to be traumatic in order for it to be successful. This was pretty much how I operated growing up and into my adulthood. I honestly didn’t know any other way as I learned this pattern of behavior from my parents. It took years of mindset work and reprogramming my daily habits to make this shift. But, this has also helped me with helping my clients as they typically operate the same way. I continue to share with them that success isn’t meant to be created alone. We can create success with ease when we have the right support system around us.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I made the pivot from corporate to entrepreneurship, I had to change my story of who I was. When I left my soul-sucking corporate job, my identity was tied to it, and little did I know that I would fall into a bit of depression for 6 months. For me to be successful, I had to rewrite the story of who I was. To be honest, I didn’t know who I was outside my job title. When I left corporate, I lost a lot of friends along. When this happens, you can’t help but ask yourself, “what is wrong with me?”.
I put the story on hold for a year to give myself time for developing my proof of concept for this new role I was going to be playing. Once I had case studies, there was no arguing about who I now was.
