We were lucky to catch up with Veronika Popyk recently and have shared our conversation below.
Veronika , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Persistence. The only story I can tell is my own. “Just get a regular job”, “don’t quit that collage program”, “ maybe you should just try something else” – opinions of others that always creep in with micro influences. The ones that find success shut external influences out. What only matters is the vision and the consistent commitment to get up and push to that goal. At 23yrs old, one month before graduation I started my company. The only reason I am where I am today in business is because of persistence. All can be successful, but not all push forward to get there.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
As the founder and director of the social Sundays, I’m a woman on a mission to unapologetically bring my faith in god and my desire for true connection with other women into the online space. I accidentally fell into branding & web design and it changed my life. It became a consuming fire within me because I found that I could create lasting, impactful relationships with women while reinventing their brand in a way that brought them unshakeable confidence. While creating these everlasting friendships, I’ve been able to show women they can change the world through their brand. They can use it as a tool for impact. It became my purpose for social Sundays to fuel friendship, change the world, and create a brand for women that changes their life.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Reputation is built through brand positioning. It’s crafting the narrative on how you want your audience to perceive you. We as business owners all have the power to shift and mold our reputation by how we position our brand. In the things we say and show. What helped me build my reputation is leading with heart and showing up for my network in ways that others don’t as well as consistent presentation to my audience of how to show up as a high end brand which built trust and connection.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn was self doubt. I used to joke and say I’m the “little engine that can’t” making fun of the book the little engine that could. I had to let that go because I knew that to get where I am going self doubt does not belong.
