In our experience, talking about legacy is often subtly discouraged by society and we find this to be deeply unfortunate. Thinking about the legacy you would like to build can help you better align your work, life, time – your sweat and tears – with your values. Below, we’ve tried to create a space for folks to start conversations about they legacies they are hoping to build.

As a face paint business owner and freelance illustrator, my legacy is about creating memorable experiences through my artistic talents. I want to be remembered for giving people of all ages the moment to feel special through my face painting sessions. It’s a moment of transformation, where they can become whoever they want to be, even if it’s just for a little while. Whether it’s for a birthday party or a corporate event, I strive to create a safe and welcoming space where people can let loose and have fun. Read more>>

I am hoping that the legacy of my company will be a social impact above all else. I always say that I don’t want to be remembered for how many homes I sold, or how cool a fashion show was, or for a collection I dropped. I want to be remembered as thoughtful. Whether it’s being thoughtful towards others, or thoughtful in the way that I present my projects, I want to always remain introspective and be remembered as the person that cared enough to always go the extra mile. The most honest answer to this question, if you are a parent, is that the success of your children will be your legacy. To that end, I hope to live with intention and lead by example. I strive to fill my life with meaningful activities that interest and fulfill me. I want to teach my children that love always wins. I want to teach them that helping people creates lasting joy. My legacy will be one of love, compassion, and kindness. I want to be remembered as a woman who lived her life with integrity and always treated others with the respect they deserved. Read more>>

My hope is that when people think of me, they think of someone who lived a life that was true to her. I hope that they think of me as someone who saw and celebrated all of the weird, wild, and magical parts of herself and encouraged others to embrace their authentic selves. Read more>>

. Being a humanitarian is one of my biggest endeavors in life. There are so many people in need and I have bin one of them. So any chance I get I give a helping hand. Even when I’m struggling myself I find joy in putting a smile on someone else’s face. People will always say that I work my butt off to connect them and put them in rooms with people they wouldn’t be able to connect with by themselves and that I’m amazing to be around. Read more>>
