Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Drishti Verma. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Drishti , thanks for joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
My parents were incredibly supportive of my interests and ambitions. They encouraged me to pursue my passions, both photography and jewelry designing, even if they were unconventional or challenging. They never tried to force me into a particular career or path, but instead, gave me the freedom to explore and make my own choices.
They also instilled in me the value of hard work and determination. They taught me to never give up and to always push myself to do my best, no matter what obstacles I might face. This mindset has been invaluable in helping me achieve my goals and overcome challenges throughout my personal and professional life.
Additionally, my parents always emphasized the importance of education and learning. They provided me with opportunities to explore and discover new things, whether it was through travel, books, or experiences. This has helped me develop a broad perspective and a love of learning that continues to serve me well today.
Overall, I feel incredibly fortunate to have had such supportive and encouraging parents. They have played an instrumental role in shaping who I am today, and I will always be grateful for their guidance and love.

Drishti , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As a photographer and the owner of ESKAE, a silver jewelry brand, I have always been inspired by Indian mythology and the stories it holds. During my jewelry design studies at the National Institute of Fashion Design (NIFT), New Delhi, I was able to infuse these stories into my metalwork, which helped me to create unique and meaningful pieces that were deeply rooted in my cultural heritage.
Later on, when I enrolled at Parsons, New York, as a photography student, I was able to take my inspiration to the next level by using my skills to bring these stories to life. I found that photography allowed me to visualize and express my ideas in a way that was both creative and effective, which helped me to better communicate my vision to others.
Although my work was initially met with criticism for not being conventional or mainstream, I knew that I wanted to stay true to my vision and find a community of like-minded people along the way. Through experimentation with artistic expression using metal and photos, I was able to create ESKAE, a brand that is rooted in a deep passion for art and its ability to create unique and meaningful experiences for individuals.
As the founder of ESKAE, I have always been drawn to the fantastical and eccentric aspects of art that push the boundaries of reality and imagination. I believe that storytelling is a powerful tool that can be used to engage with our brand users on a deeper level, which is why we strive to create a world where imagination meets reality.
Our goal at ESKAE is to provide our customers with a unique sense of luxury and ethereality through our products. We believe that our pieces are designed to help individuals explore their fantasies and express their artistry in a way that feels authentic and empowering. By infusing our work with meaning and purpose, we hope to create a deeper connection with our customers and inspire them to embrace their own creativity and imagination.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One lesson that I had to unlearn was the belief that failure is something to be ashamed of and avoided at all costs. We live in a society where we are always taught that success is everything and that failure is a sign of weakness. As a result, I became extremely risk-averse and would avoid trying new things or taking on challenges that I wasn’t sure I could handle.
It wasn’t until I started my own business that I realized the importance of failure in the learning process. I made mistakes, had setbacks, and encountered unexpected obstacles, but instead of feeling ashamed or defeated, I began to see these experiences as opportunities for growth and learning. I started to embrace the idea that failure is a natural part of the journey to success and that every setback was a chance to learn and improve.
This shift in mindset has had a profound impact on my personal and professional life. I am more willing to take risks and try new things, knowing that even if I fail, I will come away with valuable lessons and insights that will help me in the future. I no longer see failure as a reflection of my worth or ability, but as a necessary part of the process of growth and development.
Overall, unlearning the belief that failure is something to be ashamed of has allowed me to become more resilient, adaptable, and confident in my abilities. It has also helped me to approach challenges with a growth mindset, seeing them as opportunities rather than obstacles.
