We recently connected with Jessi Wagner and have shared our conversation below.
Jessi, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
For me, when I think of taking a risk, I think of taking the risk in every moment to be your authentic self. Taking the risk that who you are is exactly enough. Taking the risk that you will be fully seen and heard. Taking the risk that you can attract MORE by simply BEING. Taking the risk to go against the grain and do something DIFFERENT. I take the risk to surrender every single day in so many ways. And every single time is scary when I get to a higher level or surrendering and healing, but every single time it’s worth it. I have taken other big risks in my life. I walked away from my Master’s Level Career to fully pursue my Network Marketing Career. I took a big risk to open a brick & mortar wellness center. But the ability to take those big risks for ME was in taking the risk to trust myself and my intuition.
Jessi, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Jessi Wagner. I feel like I have lived a million lives in this lifetime and worn a million hats and still do, but the best way to really describe ME is a woman, divinely guided on a path of showing up authentically and unapologetically. My mission is to empower other women to love themselves fully in all aspects of their lives – mind, body, and spirit.
I started grown up life as a Special Education Teacher, then transitioned to a Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol Therapist, then to a full-time Network Marketing Professional in the wellness industry, to currently, the owner of SolSpace, a holistic and intuitive wellness center. I have always been passionate about helping others and also about personal growth and development, but throughout my own spiritual growth, I realized started to put the pieces together of what was missing from each season of my life that made me move on to the next one. The one thing everything had in common is that some part didn’t fully align with who I know I am and my values. The more I learned about myself, the more I healed, and the more I learned to fully accept and love myself. Now, I combine everything I’ve learned through all of those experiences in my work as a Reiki Master, Moon Mother, and Spiritual Coach. In addition, I’m able to take what I’ve learned to provide a holistic approach to wellness with our various other services including yoga, infrared sauna, detox foot bath, red light therapy, salt cave, sound healing, massage, and more. I am so grateful for every single step that led me here, serving in the most aligned way for me.
As a recovering perfectionist, I have “accomplished” a lot in my life – collegiate softball scholarship, Summa Cum Laude in both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, top 2% Network Marketing income earner, creator of a deck of affirmation cards for moms, contributor in a best-selling book, blah blah blah. But what I am most proud of is the inner work I’ve done to not only attract (not achieve) what I have NOW, but also because of the person it has allowed me to become.
What makes people want to work with me is my radical authenticity and my vulnerability in sharing it. I believe that as a healer and/or coach, it is so important to not only be DOING the work but also to be SHARING that as you move through it, not just after you’re on the other side. With that, I provide a safe space for others to begin to feel seen and heard and allow that to move them towards self acceptance and self love. If all else fails, I always tell people that if me showing up unapologetically in ALL my “flaws'” makes you feel a little bit better about yourself, then I’ll keep showing up fully – in whatever clothes make me comfortable, with my toe nails and my lashes not done, with rolls in my belly, and even if I crack my front tooth again the day before speaking on stage. I will keep showing up for you.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
I whole-heartedly believe the most helpful thing for succeeding in ANY field is healing your past trauma and working through your limiting beliefs. In fact, I think it’s essential to TRUE success. Success isn’t just about reaching a certain income or status or job title. It’s about feeling HAPPY and FULFILLED in your life. If you put all of your worth into only your career will always set you up for failure AND is a direct result of the way you feel about YOURSELF. If you don’t believe you are worthy or deserving of your success, A. You won’t maintain it. B. You will sacrifice too much of yourself and your values to achieve the goal. C. You won’t feel any better about yourself when you achieve the goal, or most likely D. All of the above. Know who you are and want you want. Know that you are inherently and unconditionally worthy of love, happiness, and success, and make all of your decisions and discernments from that place, then you will absolutely be on the fast track to success.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
WORKING HARDER AND DOING MORE IS NEVER THE ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEMS. This truly is one I have to unlearn and unlearn every single day. Again, I did all the things. I’ve HUSTLED. I have ALWAYS had multiple jobs in addition to multiple volunteer obligations. Always. I am no stranger to hard work by any means. And I have achieved “success” because of that, but I learned the hard way that checking off all of the societal boxes instead of my own boxes would never lead to TRUE success. And what I proved to myself is that it IS possible to do things differently. It IS possible to manifest, attract, and ALIGN yourself with what you want. It IS possible to REST and set BOUNDARIES and still make money. When we work from a place of desperation and burnout, we receive more feelings of desperation and burnout. When we SURRENDER to the greater plan and simply trust that things will work out, things magically work out, step by step by step.
