James & Ursula, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Ursula loves fashion, putting outfits together, and seeing the final product. James likes finding a unique and comfortable shoe. So we decided to open up a men’s clothing store. Between Ursula’s love for fashion and James’ love for shoes, we like being able to curate unique and exclusive products for our customers. We both felt strongly about the unique products we wanted to provide to customers. As a boutique, we could provide some items that would be hard to find and eye-catching. With this in mind, we were 100% invested in bringing our idea to fruition.
There are not a lot of men’s clothing stores. Our store addresses the demand in the market for men’s luxury casual apparel. In 2019, the menswear market in the United States was valued at $141.1 billion. There is a relatively even split of men’s apparel and footwear products in the market. This store will help address the demand for men’s apparel.
We provide luxury men’s apparel, to men who are looking for something different. Not just your dress up, but it’s more your casual luxe attire. It’s casual attire with a little flair and class. We carry some brands in the store that no other stores carry in Southlake, and some brands are not carried in any other store in Texas. We carry several brands of shoes. But one brand called Spingle Move which is out of Japan is exclusive to our store and is not carried by any other stores in Texas. Spingle Move has been around for 20 years, providing quality and comfort. The shoe provides a very unique look and feel. This is a shoe that will definitely stand out in a crowd.
Spingle Move also created a shoe for Modern Fit Menswear. We had Modern Fit Menswear shoes designed exclusively for our store and they cannot be purchased by any other store in the country.
Modern Fit Menswear also hosts mixers, beer tastings, and other events throughout the year.

James & Ursula, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
James has a 30+ year background in law enforcement and Ursula has over 20 years in healthcare. We have a blended family with two adult children and 10-month-old twins. We got into men’s fashion due to our love for fashion and finding products that are unique. We offer some unique and exclusive products from around the world. The products we carry include men’s sport coats, dress shirts, sport shirts, slacks, jeans, shoes, accessories and fragrances. We have an eye for what looks good and provide that insight when you come in to shop.
What sets us apart are the different styles and brands of clothes we carry. We provide a comfortable shopping experience. You can shop, sip, and chat in our store that boasts a bar area. We offer in-store or online shopping, and in-store pickup.
We are most proud of having twins in June 2022 that had a three-week NICU stay and still opening the store in August 2022. It wasn’t easy but our goal was to open as soon as we could so we could start serving our customers.
We want our potential customers to know that the same care and detail we put into our store is the same care and detail we put into serving our customers and ensuring the best shopping experience.

How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
We sell on our website. We decided to sell on our site because it allows us the opportunity to broaden our customer base. Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
We keep in touch with our clients by sending out a monthly newsletter sharing what’s going with the store, from sales, events, and providing information on fashion and styling. We foster brand loyalty by keeping engaged through email updates and announcements and regularly posting on social media.
