We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nicky Allado. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nicky below.
Hi Nicky, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I have been singing since childhood, influenced by my father’s drumming and my mother’s beautiful voice. I received your first singing lessons from your parents at the age of six, and with music from diverse backgrounds always playing in my home, I naturally gravitated towards exploring various musical genres. I pursued your passion for music further by attending The Colburn School, where I concentrated on Voice.
In high school, I was given the opportunity to re-write the school anthem, which ignited my interest in songwriting. This, combined with my desire to produce music, led me to acquire my first TASCAM US-144 interface, which opened up new possibilities for my music.
Today, my passion for music continues to drive me, as I create music that blends different genres and showcases my unique artistic vision. My background in singing, songwriting, and producing allows me to provide a range of services to clients, from writing and producing original music to collaborating with other artists and businesses.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
As a singer, songwriter, and producer, I cater to clients with diverse musical tastes. I create songs and produce tracks that are tailored to their genre, whether it’s pop, funk, R&B, country, or any other style. This versatility allows me to work with a wide range of clients and provide customized services that meet their unique needs and preferences.
In addition, it’s worth noting that my studio, My Father’s Studio, is a voice and recording studio. My studio provides a safe space for people who are curious with their voices and music creativity. My Father’s Studio has several packages to help them achieve their artistic goals, from singing and voice lesson, to song production, to performance artist programs.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
To really show love and support for artists and creatives, our society needs to recognize and appreciate their value. That means providing them with funding, resources, and opportunities to do their thing. But we can also do our part by simply showing some love on social media – give their posts a like or a share – and by streaming their music on Spotify or Apple Music. These little gestures can go a long way in helping artists build their fanbase and keep creating awesome stuff that we all love.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Being an artist or creative is awesome because you get to express yourself in your own unique way, and make something totally original that speaks to people. It’s super rewarding to connect with others through your art, and to be able to inspire people or make them feel something special. At the end of the day, being an artist is just an awesome way to be creative, have fun, and make a positive impact on the world!
