We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Julian Tejeda. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Julian below.

Julian, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?

I think in order to be successful in any industry you have to be fearless and roll with the punches. Everything will have its ups and downs, instead of fearing those failures, learn from them. Success can only be measured when it exists alongside failure.

Julian, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I’d say I’ve gotten where I am professionally thanks to the first major project I was attached to, a feature film titled: Tardy Terror. Tardy Terror (renamed “Horror High” for distribution) was produced by the entirety of my junior media technology class and was picked up for worldwide distribution by the company ITN in May of 2022. On this project I was the lead actor, props master, co-writer, associate producer, and score composer. Thanks to this film, I was able to acquire internships and other crew positions on numerous sets. I would later go on to start my own production company (Out Of Touch Productions) which has produced numerous short films and is currently producing a feature film that was written by me!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

For me the most rewarding part of what I do is having people see and connect with my work. My most recent short film (ALONE) was something I shot all by myself on a whim and it ended up garnering 67K views and a few selections into film festivals (including an award win)! When I read the comments left on the film, I was able to see that I managed to make something that not only scared people, but also resonated with them on an emotional level. Nothing can top that.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

Right now a goal for me is to continue making films under my production company and build up my arsenal.
