Boženko , appreciate you joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
To be successful you have to have a deeper purpose why you are creating a product or service which helps your community which you build over years by trust. Some may think money and power is going to make them work hard every day throughout the whole day but entrepreneurship takes a lot of sacrifices and these superficial reasons won’t make you get up early in the morning and run an international company. It has to be built on the impact and providing the community because otherwise you won’t survive in a highly competitive market. It’s the passion and purpose which gives hard working results such as satisfied customers whose problems you solved and in one way, made a world a better place.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Boženko Marlais. I have started my entrepreneurship journey in the USA with opening a property management agency Promanse. We are an international company which is running on all continents, with emphasis on the USA and Europe where we have most impact. The services we offer include booking, check-in, communication with guests, cleaning and doing laundry. We help homeowners to relax during the season and let us take care of their properties and guests. What sets us apart from others is our personal approach we strive for with clients and guests and also our low commission comparing to other international property management agencies. The thing we are most proud of is our large community we have for years that is satisfied with the work we do everyday. The trust we get from our community makes us do our part passionately with making the best out of the season. The main thing we want our potential clients or followers to know is that we are flexible with our deal because our mission is to help you solve your problems.
What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
I was working a regular 9-5 job when my auntie asked me to take care of bookings for her apartments and also to do the check-in and communicate with her guests because she felt overwhelmed at the time and she didn’t speak English very well. After a while, other members of my family and cousins found out about it and wanted the same with giving me some percentage of their profit. I started enjoying this job because I wanted to make sure the guests felt like home just as I wanted the homeowners to make me feel that way when I was traveling. I started managing more and more apartments of my friends and acquaintances that it got to the point I couldn’t manage it myself. I had to hire someone to help me. Short time after it got to the point my side hustle turned more profitable and enjoyable for me so I started advertising our services. The business grew bigger and bigger and now we are proud to say we have a large international community with clients that are happy with us service for years.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
The most effective way of building your audience on social media is by having a quality content which is full of tips and interesting facts your followers would like to read. But to get to the followers and keep them you have to have a budget for advertising and be ready to invest in lots of Giveaways. All people love gifts and it’s a very simple and yet effective method for getting followers.
