We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Krista Vanterpool. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Krista below.
Krista, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
Thank you for speaking with me today. As a jewelry designer, I find nothing more fulfilling than creating pieces that hold a special meaning for the person choosing to wear my jewelry. One recent project that stands out is a custom ring I made for a client’s sister as a Christmas present. The client shared that her sister was a strong cancer survivor who had recently gone into remission, and she wanted to give her something she could wear every day to celebrate this victory.
Together, we settled on my Lunar Phase ring design, which features five phases of the moon. Serendipitously, this was a design that her sister had recently tattooed on her body. We made a few modifications to the original design, swapping out the petite diamonds for green tourmaline stones, which happen to be her sister’s birthstone.
What made this project truly meaningful for me was being a part of creating something that spoke so deeply to the wearer. I believe that jewelry should be more than just an accessory; it should be a reflection of someone’s personal story. It was an honor to create a piece that will forever hold a special place.

Krista, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello! My name is Krista and I am a jewelry designer with a love for yellow gold and gemstones. What sets me apart from other designers is my passion for creating celestial and custom pieces that are uniquely personal and can be customized to each of my clients.
My journey in jewelry design began a few years ago, after I lost my wedding set in the Atlantic Ocean during a family vacation. Initially, I was devastated, but soon became excited about the opportunity to design my own ring. And so, a few months later, Alizeti Fine was born.
For me, jewelry design is not just about creating beautiful pieces, but also about sustainability. That’s why I make it a point to only use eco-friendly natural stones and recycled gold whenever possible in all of my jewelry.
What I am most proud of is my collection of jewelry, which is designed to be worn every day and is intentional to the person wearing it. Working with my clients to create personalized and meaningful pieces is what I enjoy the most, and I am always fully open to their ideas and suggestions.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
Absolutely! I am a huge fan of listening to podcasts while I work, and music is my go-to when I’m in the creative zone. But when it comes to my journey as a business owner, podcasts have been an incredible resource for me.
One of my favorites is the Social Proof Podcast hosted by David Shane and Donny Wiggins. It’s an amazing resource for entrepreneurs who need inspiration while shifting into an entrepreneurial mindset. The interviews are engaging and go into detail about the successes and failures of POC business owners.
Another great podcast that I love is Side Hustle Pro with Nicalia. This podcast features the incredible success stories of women who have scaled their businesses, and it’s truly inspiring to hear their stories.
And lastly, my favorite book for any business owner at any stage in their journey is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. This book is simply a great read and offers valuable insights that can help guide entrepreneurs on their path to success.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
With Alizeti Fine, my ultimate goal is to create jewelry that brings joy and liveliness to whoever wears it. I chose the name Alizeti because it represents my favorite flower, the sunflower, and everything it symbolizes: resilience and the pursuit of greatness.
Jewelry has played a crucial role in my journey to overcome darkness and find light in my life. That’s why I founded Alizeti Fine in 2020, with a motto that’s close to my heart: “Adorn yourself with light.” To me, this means always seeking out the goodness and beauty in each moment, no matter how difficult things may seem.
I want Alizeti Fine pieces to inspire wearers to be like the sunflower: to stand tall and embrace their inner beauty. Each piece is crafted with this intention in mind, and I hope that anyone who wears my jewelry feels empowered to strive for greatness and never give up.
