We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ali Acosta a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Ali , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard

When you have a skin problem arise, whether it be acne or a rash, who is the first person you turn to? A dermatologist. Dermatologist are incredible at so many things but acne or acne related subjects are not one of them. There are very few dermatologists that recognize acne is inherently an internal problem. They are fast to throw prescription drugs at the problem instead of asking the patient what they eat on a regular basis or what their stress level is. We take a whole picture holistic approach to acne diving deep into diet, hormones, and hereditary factors that play into acne. Western medicine is incredible and has saved so many lives, but eastern medicine has been around for centuries longer and can usually handle a problem before turning to western cures.

Ali , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Achieving clear skin doesn’t have to be a 10 step routine, trying every Tik Tok trend, or break the bank. I have struggled with acne since the 8th grade. Cystic, painful acne that was persistent and would show up without rhyme or reason. I saw an esthetician every month for years, tried every skin care product out there, turned to dermatologists only to be told to go on Accutane or given a different topical medicine that did nothing. Going to a dermatologist for your acne is like talking to a brick wall and I was beyond frustrated. I set out on my path to being an acne specialist with the intent on first solving my acne and then solving other people’s acne. Through my own research and dedication to educating myself on food science, hormone imbalances, pore clogging ingredients, and so much more I have created a very successful method to diagnosing the root cause of acne and making clear skin possible. I’ve seen not only myself, but hundreds of peoples skin be acne free after just a few months. I am passionate about giving people back their confidence through clear, acne free skin. You too can have clear skin, it is possible!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

Social media is the biggest blessing and curse. Being on the older side that didn’t grow up in social media culture, it was really hard to grasp. I spent hours creating informational graphics and content that people can both enjoy and learn from. Like anything with business, you have to spend money to make money. I found hiring a social media manager made my life remarkably easier, freeing up time to focus on other crucial business needs while I let my social media manager grow our audience, turning followers into clients.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

Far and beyond I have created a solid clientele from being honest. My clients know I will not sell them something I don’t personally believe in. Creating a trusting environment between practitioner and client is absolutely ket to a successful relationship.
