We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ilenia Arias a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ilenia , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
My goal is one day to have a flowers truck, I think it is the physical way to have a business, which would work for me. that’s why I named it Florist on wheels
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
well here a little about me.. I am a flower designer. I am 48 years old, of which I can easily say that half have worked with flowers, many years ago I started working with a friend, He taught me to love this job, he shared his knowledge with me. Over time life took us down different ways, but I will always be grateful with him.. Now working on my own, I started working in my own style. to design the flowers that I want to sell. That has led me experiment with new techniques, which I love, because I have managed to shape beautiful arrangements. I discovered that working with flowers goes much further, because I have even learned to carve figures in oasis to achieve my vision.
Make flower arrangements It’s not just putting together bouquets, it’s achieving a smile, behind a pity, it’s getting a sigh behind a rose, it’s receiving a yes, behind a big box of flowers, it’s accompanying your last resting place with the aroma of flowers.

Of course I have had bad experiences, but every day, in each flower that I arrange, I leave a part of myself, since I try to do something that makes me feel happy when I see my work finished.
My goal is to have a flower truck, I think it would work for me. That is the reason why the name of my business “Florist on wheels”.
On this path to achieve my goals, my husband accompanies me, the truth is my right hand, he supports me in everything. we are a great team. It has taken me a lot of work to enter the market, but I have to be thankful that my clients share my work and that helps a lot.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
For me, social media is the way to show my work, its my sideboard. By not having a physical store, it is the way in which I have been able to sell these years.
What has worked for me is to publish all the photos of my work on social networks, I use Google, which has worked a lot for me and a large part of my clients are from that platform.
Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?
Making flower arrangements is looking for the perfect mix and match, so that they are pleasing to the eye. I have a particular client who is always a challenge. the first time he ordered a huge bear of roses. So that gave me the experience that carving oasis is also an art. I learned to carve figures, which have to be lined with chicken wire, so that the figure resists. They are little things, that I have learned throughout each flower order. The best thing was to see the face of my client’s daughter when she saw her huge bear.
