We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Clare Frances a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Clare, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
It has been my dream to be known for something of my own. I have decided to have private branding on skincare. I have worked with a couple of persons, and a company trusted by dermatologists and esthetic professionals to help me select high-quality organic/vegan, eco-friendly and cruelty-free ingredients. As a nurse, I have researched to make sure it would give the maximum benefits to everybody from young to old, men to women – with different types of skin. The products are made in the USA. Lastly, I tried to make it simple and pure, with my girly touch. Thus, ROSE ET BLANC, for pink and white – was launched on August 2022.

This journey of mine on “skinvestment” is aimed to address the different skin care needs of both young and old, men and women, and all skin types – matured, dry, oily, and sensitive – in a more natural way.
In lieu, my facial beauty products – are U.S. made, dermatologist-trusted, vegan based, eco-friendly, paraben-free, with clean and cruelty-free (not tested on animals) ingredients.
Furthermore, I would be able to exhibit the true potential of my products by incorporating them into a facial session so as to experience it first-hand!
With regard to my hydrofacial service, it will be the best you could ever have! It offers the MOST COMPLETE skincare need for your lovely face. The hydrofacial session involves 3 PHASES with a total of 7 STEPS: (a) CLEANING – Cleansing, Exfoliating, Pore suctioning; (b) ANTI-AGING – Ultrasound, Radiofrequency, LED light; and (c) HYDRATING – Beauty spray and Cold hammer therapy.

Being a private brand is a challenge itself. I have to build a name against popular and bigger skincare line. This goes the same for my facial service. This on top of having a full time job; plus being a mom to my two handsome kids with their academic and extracurricular activities —- is really tough.
I am treating it as an opportunity to grow in the future. I am doing in-person marketing not only to friends and families, but to the public through vendor events. Of course, I have to invade the social media – Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok. Consistency is the key, on top of patience – I guess. I have to level up to be an extrovert in here. hehe!
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Like what I have mentioned, I am like a caterplillar in a cocoon that will soon be a butterfly with its beautiful wings flying around. Everything is out of my pocket. When I started on purchasing for my products, I just did the minimum per item – then after I sold it, I used the same money to repeat the process. Until I have enough to start on my mini facial spa. I am pretty much right now, on my 6th month old – still a long way to go! I am loving what I do as I use my own products and I do my own facial – and I am a living testament!
