Thurro, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.

Starting the Hiker Lyfe Podcast was a life changing risk for me. Not knowing if I would fail, succeed, or if people would even listen… So far I’m 8 episodes in and every episode seems to get better and better!

My name is Thurro Alexander and I’m the creator and producer of the Hiker Lyfe LIVE Show/Podcast. HIKER LYFE is a 45-60min INSTAGRAM LIVE SHOW 📺📡 that airs every Tuesday evening at 8:00pm MST (USA time). Hiker Lyfe interviews hikers 🥾, kayakers 🚣) and ALL LOVERS OF THE OUTDOORS!!! Hiker Lyfe gives people the opportunity to tell their stories, highlight their recent adventures, or promote anything else they have going on related to the outdoors. Is there mission driving your creative journey?

My goal with Hiker Lyfe is to give hikers and lovers of the outdoors a platform to share their stories in a fun and creative way and to give listeners an opportunity to learn something as well which is where the gameshow comes in. The gameshow is a mini spin off of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire and all the questions are about hiking, National Parks, and the outdoors. The goal is get more people outside enjoying the outdoors.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

Building an audience on social media takes time & effort! There’s no quick way to do this… Being genuine and reciprocating the same energy back to my followers has helped me grow maintain the engagement level I have achieved. It’s more than just responding to comments. Anybody can do that. Remember, liking a post takes a second but writing a comment takes some effort so if somebody has taken the time to write a comment, no matter how long or short, I think that comment deserves a genuine response.
