We were lucky to catch up with Tiffany Peck recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tiffany, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with a hypothetical question – if it were up to you, what would you change about the school or education system to better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career?
Students spend a lot of time at school learning how to interact with the world. At school, students are being groomed to work in career fields that will not match what they enjoy doing. I would change the drive of the educational system and not make it so much about data or money, but instead about preparing students to be adults are prepared for the day-to-day life of adulthood and a career that they enjoy. Students do need to learn the fundamentals of mathematics and reading, but the rest of their education should be based on what is currently happening in the world. Students should learn how to do their taxes, manage money, and how to build and use technology to further advance the human race. To prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career, it is important to teach them how to identify their passion and purpose. Oftentimes, this is not something one becomes comfortable with until later on in adulthood, but if we teach and encourage students to develop this skill early on, we can ensure that their careers will be matched with their passion.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I have always enjoyed creating art, but in 2020 I found a new purpose in digital art and graphic design; with so many new entrepreneurs, there was a need for unique logos and other branded materials. I started creating logos for friends and family that were not comfortable enough with technology to create their own logo, and by word of mouth, my business started to grow. What my clients like most about my approach to graphic design is that I take the time to understand their business, purpose, and passion behind what they are setting out to accomplish; I get to know each client personally so that I can authentically convey them in their logo design. In my work, what I am most proud of are the relationships I have built (and maintained) with each of my clients. My service to others allows me to become a family friend to so many people and allows me to watch their businesses grow.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients for me has been previous clients sharing the work I have done for them. The great thing about designing visual elements is that others get to see them and ask “who created that for you?”, which leads to another referral.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist and creative is being able to watch others enjoy my work. Knowing that I fully delivered, or even over delivered, on a project and my client is over-the-moon with joy about what I was able to produce for them.
