We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dilworth E. Daley a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Dilworth, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How has Covid changed your business model?
Hello as a Travel Advisor with a yearly growth from 2006 until 2019. With Covid we lost 90% of our business in 2020. However i was determined to recover from such a devasting setback. While travel was on pause i took the time to regroup. Focusing on maintaining a client base by staying relevant. Being mindful of the world crisis and sensitive to the circumstances we all faced. I knew that we are social beings and that travel would return with a “vengence” And oh my goodness has it ever. Once the doors of travel started to open i have seen a steady increase in calls and emails in regards to travel request. And 2021 was even better than 2019 in sales. And 2022 has been our most successful year ever.
We now focus even more in providing a greater sense of customer service. Making sure we treat all as number one. We must help to create the most ideal trip for all.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a Travel Advisor (Agent) focused on securing the most ideal travel product for all. I actually got into this business since others saw the “light” After working for years in the Science industry. In 2013 the transition was made to becoming a full time Travel Advisor and i must say its been amazing with no regrets.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
With Covid i had to learn to streamline and focus on securing growth when no one was traveling.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
With the increase in travel and my own travel. I have utilized Facebook to help me grow. With my “On Location” Series which highlights my travels while i am actually “on site”.
