We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brian Wallenberg a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Brian thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
My company’s name is Saturnblu Productions. The name came from the planet Saturn, which is the ruling planet of Capricorn (my astrological sign). I did drive a blue Saturn car at one point but that had nothing to do with the name. Blue is my favorite color so I added that onto the end and took off the “E” to shorten just a bit.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Brian Wallenberg and I have been focusing my business on capturing performing arts for over 10 years. I spent the early part of my career as a ballet dancer and found my way into the video industry just as social media was coming onto the scene. I’ve honed my skills with a number of larger arts organizations in the Atlanta area and am excited about the future of my company. Collaboration is key to the work that fills my days (and nights) and is something I find truly wonderful.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was saying “yes” to everything. As a dancer, I was taught to always say yes. Learning to say “no” was one of the best and biggest lessons for me. It also opened up so much space for me to do the projects that I love.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Being a creative professional is an absolutely wonderful career. It comes with many challenges. The most rewarding thing about being an artist is sharing the work with the world, meeting new creators, and supporting the performing arts community.
