We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Stephanie Sterling a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Stephanie , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

I came up with The Authentic Stephanie Sterling when I wrote and published my first book, Fatherless Success. The idea was me being vulnerable to the world which was new for me since I’m a private person. Millions of people grow up in a single parent home. I knew that I had to share my story so that others like me can become inspired. So they know they are not alone and they can overcome that trauma in a healthy and productive way. Everything about me is authentic. I rarely wear makeup, only 3 times in my life. I prefer to wear my real hair. My body is natural inside and outside. Most importantly I’m always honest and true to myself.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

The Authentic Stephanie Sterling is about uplifting, empowering, and connecting people. As an author I have a story to tell. I chose to share my story because I’m passionate about helping people. I have a variety of gifts and it’s only right that I share what God has blessed me with. My tagline Step Out Of The Box With Me suggests being who you are and doing it unapologetically. We were all made uniquely, and no one should ever feel bad for standing out or being gifted. It’s your divine right, so live in it to the fullest. Never dim your light. As a speaker, I want to empower people through my words. Letting them know that Self-love is the key! Once you master that you can succeed both personally and professionally. Learning to love yourself is the most difficult thing for us to learn because of our experiences, but it’s the most rewarding too.
Events are something I’m very passionate about. I enjoy hosting events and giving people an unforgettable experience. That is why I launched The Ultimate Experience, which is the events portion of my brand. The idea is to coordinate upscale events for like-minded individuals who want to connect with people on their level, give them an unforgettable experience, and elevate their senses to new levels.
Giving back to our community is also important to me. That’s why I not only volunteer in the community, but I partner with organizations to help bring awareness to their brand as well. Giving to others is one of the most rewarding things you can ever do!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

Building your reputation is very important. The things that help me are being consistent, always showing up, and building relationships. I have a way to make others feel good about themselves. I support people. When people are around me, I listen to them and do not judge them.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

The best source of new clients are referrals and networking. These 2 things are the reasons that my business is growing. Throughout my journey this will make my business sustainable.
