We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tiffany Lee Gaston. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tiffany Lee below.
Tiffany Lee, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your career and how did you resolve those issues?
I’ve learned many valuable lessons over the years, but perhaps none as great as the value of owning your own customers. Having lost a large social media account to hackers a few years ago, I learned the value of an email list and the need to contain my community in my ecosphere. It was disheartening, but quite the learning curve.
Tiffany Lee, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As the author of, From Broken to Badass, I have navigated the fitness industry for many years having been a competitive figure athlete to a successful magazine cover model, grateful to be featured on 11 magazine covers and countless features in publications all around the world throughout the years.
I am proud to have achieved the type of success I have over the years, but having the platform to share truth is my absolute passion. The glossy, pretty, post production imagery is lovely, but it hides so much. The other stuff is where I’ve learned to operate and bring to light.
I’ve learned to make my mess my message and share it openly. We need more honesty about where we’re at, because you never know who is in need of hearing that special song that only your heart can play.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Loss in my business forced me to pivot and learn about how to manage my website, newsletter, advertising, community and more. I adapted the mindset that I needed to build trust and to do that more within the confines of getting them into my ecosphere (via newsletter etc) building and adding value through programs, digital products and more. This shift was essential in managing my brand better.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I feel the above story of loss further showcases my resilience because since that time (2019) I’ve grown two additional accounts from nothing and integrated them more properly than ever before. Generating the best monetary outcome through learning how not to do things.
