We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Liku Amadi, Esq.. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Liku below.
Alright, Liku thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
I left corporate in the midst of the pandemic and three months pregnant to start my own law practice for two reasons:
First, to have control over my time and quality of life. I was fortunate enough to realize very early on that I’d worked too hard to not enjoy the fruits of my labor – and I didn’t HAVE TO work for anyone. I could work for myself and build a law firm around the quality of life I desired versus the opposite which is what corporate culture promotes.
Second, to teach business owners what the legal parts in their business mean so they can learn to leverage them to make more money versus putting it on the back burner or feeling apprehensive about dealing with it

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
2023 marks two years of my virtual law practice, Anasa Law Firm (ALF) where I work with online coaches, consultants, and strategists to help them establish a solid legal foundation for business. That includes drafting and reviewing contracts, trademarks and intellectual property protection, and legal strategies to protect businesses as they grow and scale. People also come to ALF for help getting out of contract disputes and dealing with sticky client situations.
Education is critically important when it comes to legal services. I make it a point to educate my clients and walk them through everything we’re doing so they feel empowered to make the major decisions business owners often have to make. I’m also a guest expert and speaker for group programs, cohorts, and events where I teach about the legal essentials of doing business.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
The biggest contributor to my reputation is being myself. The world already perceives lawyers as stuffy, expensive and people you go to when you have problems. They don’t look at lawyers as assets to their team, strategic partners and pleasurable people to be around.
Being myself has been my biggest asset because it allows me to show people my personality and connect with people on a human level – I’m a mother, business owner, wife, Black woman and fill so many other extraordinary roles which shape who I am. It’s important to me that people connect with me on that level before they invest in me. It turns a traditionally stuffy experience into one that’s enjoyable.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy, in addition to being myself, has been collaborating with other online business owners. This allows me to make new connections, be in new rooms and meet new people. Collaboration and community are gold.
