We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ashley Collins a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ashley , appreciate you joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
To be successful in my opinion is based on a personal feeling or personal accomplishments not how much money you are making. Being able to do what you love is success. I feel that I am successful because I am doing what I love while achieving all my goals in life that I have set.

Ashley , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Ashley and I am a balloon artist. I own my own decorating business in Ohio. I started my business 2 years ago. One day I decided I wanted to do something to make my daughter, my family and myself proud. Once I realized I was having fun creating balloon decor and people were willing to pay me for it,I knew I found my niche. I also knew once I started I couldn’t give up I had to keep going because I had my daughter watching me. My most important goal is showing my daughter you can be successful if you work hard and never give up.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
My business partner is my cousin Ashley. Yes, we are both Ashley. My cousin Ashley has always been by my side motivating me in whatever I do in life. My cousin had a clothing line previously so he is the other creative side of “Ashley’s Creations”. Without my business partner I would not be where I am today.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Being a decorator I am always dealing with difficulties. Almost every set up I have I have to reassure myself of what I am capable of. Whether it be running out of a certain color of balloons during a set up or procrastinating until the last minute and stressing myself out the night before an event trying to cram. I give myself 60 seconds of “panic” then I immediately go into “make it work” mode.
