We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tawanay Bryant a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tawanay, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to start by getting your thoughts on what you are seeing as some the biggest trends emerging in your industry
Some of the biggest trends in the entrepreneurial industry right now include digital marketing, e-commerce, artificial intelligence, and the “gig economy.”
It’s also becoming more popular to start businesses with a social impact, such as those focused on sustainability and environmentalism.
Tawanay, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am Tawanay Bryant, I’m the owner of SB Management & Marketing, LLC, T’s Coffee & Brews, Three Chics on the Square, Geranium Women’s Ministries, and Co-Founder of The G.I.R.L.S. “Business Bestie’s” Entrepreneur Group, & Co-Chair of the Georgia Acton Children’s Business Fair. I am a strong supporter of small businesses; through unique strategies, my goal is to ignite growth by creating a network of community collaborations on the “real south side” in the south metro Atlanta area.
I have hosted numerous virtual broadcasts, including “What’s New at Clay Plaza?” promoting new initiatives, new businesses, and existing businesses helping to attract healthy business traffic to the local McDonough Community. Our company is committed to providing quality products and services to our customers. I believe in building strong relationships and empowering those that will continue the momentum of connecting the community. Our mission is to help create innovative solutions that help educate individuals that will make life better for everyone through social connections & business incubation.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Networking, Networking, Networking is the key to building businesses and platforms. I served in the United States Army, and one of my best NCOs taught me the importance of building relationships through networking. When building your audience on social media take pictures and post with these things in mind:
1. Identify your target audience and the social media platforms they use most frequently.
2. Create a consistent brand image across all platforms to increase recognition.
3. Post engaging content regularly that aligns with your brand and target audience’s interests.
4. Utilize hashtags and keywords to increase visibility and reach new audiences.
5. Engage with your followers by responding to comments and messages.
6. Collaborate with other accounts in your industry to cross-promote each other’s content.
7. Use paid advertising to target specific audiences and increase visibility.
Remember, building a strong social media presence takes time and dedication. Stay consistent and authentic to see the best results.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Sometimes all the words from books can run together, everyone has a better story or the perfect solution. Within this past year a couple of books have held a major place in my heart and mind when I speak to others about Entrepreneurship:
