We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Whitley Love a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Whitley, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve noticed more division in the world. People are hurting, and instead of coming together to support each other, we allow our offenses & differences to further divide us. It burdens me to see divisiveness based on race, gender, class, political parties, etc. I know that everyone has a role to play, and there is strength in unity. My mission is to bring more love into the world. I want people to experience unconditional love. The kind of love I’ve experienced through my relationship with Christ. This love should be celebrated. Our differences are intentional. Each of us is like a piece to a big puzzle. My hope is to help people love each other better, despite our differences, so that we can heal and create a better future.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I am a creative. I’m passionate about love & creativity, so it was only fitting that I brought the two together through my business & ministry. As the owner of Experiences by Love, I get to organize & set up luxury picnics for people who want to do something special for their loved ones, from romantic setups for two, up to parties of twelve. It’s such a pleasure to help others come together to celebrate love. My ministry, The Word with Whit, allows me to share my journey as a Christian with those who may be going through similar situations. I’ve had to learn a lot to be able to create YouTube videos, from graphic design to editing, along with marketing & engagement, but it has all been worth it to know that I’m making a difference in the lives of others. Life can be hard for us all, but with God it’s much better. I’m grateful to be able to share the love of Christ & to encourage people to pursue Him.
What sets me apart from many other business owners, is that it’s not all about the money for me. I find joy & fulfillment in serving others. I appreciate every person who shows their support, regardless of how much they have(or haven’t) spent. It blesses me to hear feedback from the people I’ve been able to help.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

Funny thing, I went to school to be a nurse, and I worked in health care for over 5 years, but I felt God was telling me to leave my career a little over a year ago. I was obedient to the call, although my business was barely surviving, and my YouTube channel was not generating any income. I’m used to being self-sufficient, so I’ll admit this was a challenge, but it’s all working out. Some may have a hard time believing this, but God has actually provided everything I’ve needed. From business supplies to production equipment & personal needs, He has made a way. Every time I need something, I just pray about it & God will send someone along to meet the need. It’s truly miraculous.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

My favorite thing about being a creative is seeing everything come together & receiving feedback. When I go to a park with my cart full of totes packed with supplies, I always get curious stares. Seeing people’s faces & hearing their feedback after I’ve finished the picnic setup is priceless. It’s the same with my YouTube videos. The process is time-consuming, I’ll admit, but seeing the final product come together and hearing the impact it’s making on people is worth every minute.
