We were lucky to catch up with Amy Quick recently and have shared our conversation below.
Amy, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
I have a mission of leaving a carbon footprint doing what I love ! I currently own a hair salon and a nonprofit. I have merged them by doing hair for free in the community. We also provide book-bags and school supplies through the school year .
I just want to help kids be prepared for school and decrease the amount of distractions caused in some school environments . Which for a lot of kids involved there hair weather it be bullies or insecurity .

Amy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have always had a passion for helping people ! I love herbalism ,botany ,and bringing together communities! I am most proud when I turn my client around and they see there hair and love it !
I also love the difference it makes to the parents and children I am helping for school! Seems like a weight is lifted off of their shoulders.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I have grown up in New York coming from a low income community. And being apart of outreach programs that took us skiing and to visit colleges really helped me see a different way of life !
I hope to do the same now that I own a 501c3 .
I want to show them they can do it too!

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to stop blaming others for my in capabilities.
And learn I held myself back .
