Jamia , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My story behind my Mission as being a candle maker is to ensure quality with my products. Guarantee 100% soy wax candles and wax melts that are hand pour one by one. Slow burning and smell good scents that will fill up the room. I want all my customers to my satisfied with my products and will not have a doubt about my products.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into this candle business in 2019 around the pandemic I wanted to work for myself so I took my last pay check and invested in my business. Products I provide are candles and wax melts I have single wick or double wick candles. Started out it was getting the scents to be stronger and my customers gave me a feedback and from then on I ensured that my candles will have stronger scent that you can smell Thru out their home.and my customers have been living my candles and wax melts every since. What sets me apart from others is I put in the work every single time I do not stop posting about my business I want the world to know who I am and how my products really are I want give up into I’m nation wide with my brand Mia’s Scented Candles. What I’m most proud of is how I have grown with my business perfecting my craft making them better and better. What I want my customers to know about me is I stand 100% behind my products and my name I really make my candles and wax melts with love because this a my passion and I love to do this.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
I was working as a housekeeping supervisor for 3 years and I was wanted to do something new and also I wanted a schedule that and work with my kids schedule. I took my last pay check in March 2019 and invested in all my supplies. I was already researching prior so that I know what to buy. Investing in my business and being my own boss is the best thing I could have done.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
When I started out I didn’t want to show off my candles or anything lol but I just went for it. I started posting everyday I didn’t care if I didn’t get any customers or likes. I made a business page so that people from around the world can see my work. I gain customers on a daily and shipping orders. You have to crawl before you walk. You may have a good week then turn around and have a bad week but that comes with being a entrepreneur. But never doubt yourself KEEP POSTING YOUR WORK SOMEBODY IS WATCHING!!!
