We were lucky to catch up with Katie Lambert recently and have shared our conversation below.
Katie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so we’d love to hear about how you got your first client or customer. What’s the story?
We love remembering our first construction client! We had been offering interior design services out of our studio for about 18 months but hadn’t branched into the project management side yet. We would hand our client’s their full packet of selections, drawings, elevations, and everything they’d need to self-manage their projects. Frankly, the client’s were left with incredible design but really bewildered on where to turn from there.
We had discussed loosely what it would take to manage these construction projects and one day in a meeting with a client, discussing their pending kitchen remodel, I just said “well guys…I’m going to be honest…I think we can manage this project for y’all. I mean…we’ve never done it before but I really think we can do it.” I remember thinking I must’ve sounded like a complete idiot! By a miracle, they sat right there across from us and said “okay great! Let’s go for it!” I told them again “to be clear! We’ve never done this before, so this really is just our first shot at this!”
The minute they left the studio we looked at each other like “omg. is this really happening?! Why on earth are they trusting us with this?!” as the client had written us a larger check than we had ever seen in our lives at that point!!
From that first client on, we haven’t looked back!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
We are a women-owned construction company and interior design firm in Southlake TX! We offer a one stop shop when it comes to home remodels! We have it all in house!
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
We are proud to say that at Lambert Home we have never had to pay for an ad, or go seek out business! Every single client and customer that has come into our store or done a project with us is by word-of-mouth!! We have been blessed with the most loyal and kind clients and shoppers, and they’re literally are the only reason we’re still in business! It continues to blow our minds that the majority of our new clients heard about us from a neighbor, friend, or family member! We make it a priority within our business to treat clients like family. We respect them, their home, and their project! The growth just happens from there!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Our initial followers on our social media accounts were primarily friends, family members, and people in our church! Over time our social media strategy has changed and progressed tremendously! We’ve learned more about strategies like what hashtags to use, when the best time to post is, and how to keep a cohesive appearance on our pages. While all of those things have been so crucial for building our presence, there has been one major thing that has provided us with the most growth. Without a doubt, the most impactful thing that we have ever done to help our social media presence has been to remain our authentic selves. We think that it is so important to let our followers in on our lives, whether it’s the good or the bad!! We share stories about crazy things that have happened on the job, celebrations that we’re having over the weekend, or debates that we’ve been having at the store! Our followers love to have the chance to join in, share their opinion, and get a peek of all the behind the scenes! We definitely don’t think you can go wrong with being your true selves, it’s worked for us! :)
