Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Trevor Martin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Trevor, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project I have worked on so far is my debut EP, “Closer to You.” It is currently releasing and is a collection of 5 songs that tell an overarching story of falling in love, breaking up, dealing with that breakup, seeing your ex out again for the first time, and then realizing that after everything, you are just one step closer to the person you will spend forever with. I wrote all of this from a very real place, and I am so excited to share this story with my listeners!
Trevor, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Trevor Martin and I am a pop country artist based in Nashville. I have been writing and recording music ever since I graduated from Belmont in 2019. With 16 releases since 2020, I am excited to share my music and my stories with my fans and listeners. I have been singing for large audiences since I was 8 and knew that this is what I wanted to do since then. To date, I am most proud of the songs that I have been able to put out and that have connected with my audience. My song “Keeper” has gone viral many times and has millions of views on socials and streams on streaming platforms. The coolest thing is hearing from listeners who say the song either meant a lot to them, or was their song with their person, or even their wedding song!! My goal has always been to connect with people through my music, and I feel that song has done that!
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being an artist is the feedback that I get. I have recently gained over 250k followers on social media and just hearing how much a song of mine has affected someone is always so satisfying. That is why I do what I do, and I am always honored to know my music means so much to those people!
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I was born with a severe bleeding disorder called hemophilia and that has been something that has shaped who I am. I couldn’t play football growing up, so I turned to music. That was how I made friends, expressed myself, and spent my free time. I never let having hemophilia affect me negatively, and in turn, made it a positive!
