We were lucky to catch up with Mari Draughon recently and have shared our conversation below.
Mari, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about a time you helped a customer really get an amazing result through their work with you.
Here is just one of many of our reviews:
“I am a repeat customer and highly recommend Eco Kleen of the Palm Beaches. They are the best roof cleaner I have had in my 21 years of home ownership here. They gladly accommodate my request to clean my roof from the ground and not get up on my roof. My roof is cleaner and it lasts longer, before needing to be cleaned again, than any other roof cleaner I’ve used. They are very responsive, quick, prompt, provide great customer service, and are a pleasure to deal with. Their pricing is competitive, fair, and excellent value.”
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

How’d you meet your business partner?
Both Florida natives, Josh has worked in commercial construction since 2008 while I operated as a PR + marketing consultant. I also started my career in 2008, but over 1400 miles away, in the amazing city of Boston.
Together since 2010 and married in 2012, Josh + I had always envisioned combining our skills to build a business that would allow us to spend more time together while offering honest, affordable services. Founded in 2014, Eco Kleen of the Palm Beaches has become this business.
Josh is the face of Eco Kleen, managing, overseeing, and servicing almost every job. I’m the ‘voice’ and am the one who will greet you on the other end of the phone. I also handle all of Eco Kleen’s marketing efforts, including our branding, design work, website, content creation/messaging, social media, customer relations, etc.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
In the beginning, we were both still very immersed in our careers, so it was difficult to really give Eco Kleen the time + energy it needed for growth + sustainability. Weekends were the only time we could dedicate to nurturing the business, and it just wasn’t enough. In 2015, recognizing the business was going to require full-time attention, Josh walked away from his career with the union. Two years later, in 2017, the business had finally grown enough to allow it to become my full-time focus as well. So, it definitely took lots of dedication, some time, focus, and patience to get where we’re at today.
