We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Matt Worthington a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Matt, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
We started hosting networking events in Austin titled “Austin’s Most Successful Under 30. These went from backyard networking events that we bootlegged to the premier networking event company for young entrepreneurs in all of Austin.
From 25 guests to 250 guests per event and GROWING!

Riser is the premier networking community in Austin for young entrepreneurs, trailblazers, creatives and visionaries.
When developing Riser, we wanted to create a platform for people to share their story, because we believe that when stories are shared, others can be impacted and lives will change forever, impacting today’s mentality and tomorrow’s success.
The main way we wanted to impact people is to GROW their mentality, ultimately empowering them to be a leader in their life. We believe that great leaders first have to know the way, they then work to go the way, which leads them to show the way. This overall creates a domino effect that we believe creates an influx in leaders everyday.
We believe that all success is grown in community. Whether you’re trying to grow a business or succeed at life, collaborative networking and relationship building is a key element to reaching your goals, and building the life you desire.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
We have recently pivoted from being a podcast focused business to an event focused business. We did this because it has been more relevant for our community. I’d love to share more on our call together!
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Relationships and helping others rather than being exclusive. WE CAN ALL WIN TOGETHER!
