Hi Tynarial, thanks for joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.

My entire journey of starting businesses and an organization in my selected markets was risky. My parents have musical backgrounds that influenced my musical career but neither of them had the guts to pursue it wholeheartedly. So just imagine the struggle of leading a path that all they could do was support to the level of their understanding and slight experience. Launching my barbering business via Blended Association LLC (Cutz By Sarg) was something I endeavored as a compromising effort and stuck with it because of the freedom it provided to continue working on music while on the job. I felt the pressure and endured the scrutiny from different perspectives, opinions, and aspects, and like Nipsey Hustle said I had to go through EVERY emotion just to stay consistent and motivated to continue my pursuits.

I care about the Experience and Quality work that my brand produces. I’ve worked diligently to provide the best experiences coupled with professional zeal.

• Independent Artist Recording Label

• We are a platform for artists to express and launch their creativity to the world using our music entertainment products and services.

• Est. 2012 in Dothan, Alabama currently in Pensacola FL.

What do we do?

– We Provide various multimedia services for artists to create, publish, and distribute their work.

– We Create revenue-earning opportunities for artists and their fans.

– We Develop and Scale the artist business model to self-sufficiency over the course of 3 years.

The Problems Is:

• Most artists don’t have Start-up or Operations Capital

• Don’t have a Team

• Aren’t getting enough exposure

• There is an oversaturation of Creatives making Music but not making MONEY.

Our Solution is:

• Provide Products and Services to help artists grow and scale.

AWOE is a non-profit organization created and passionately driven to serve underprivileged and underserved communities. We offer creative solutions and resources to meet the relevant needs of these communities. We are just a way of escape for our beloved suffering and struggling individuals and families, so we don’t think we have all the answers or think we are the “end all be all”. We are ready and willing to connect with other established businesses and organizations serving similar purposes.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

I was told by different loved ones to change what I was doing or go another route because I wasn’t producing the kind of results they expected. I was told I was being too risky and needed to provide comfort and stability for my family. At that time they seemed right, things weren’t happening as fast or remotely close to the way imagined or needed them to. I noticed the more I endured the hardship and unfavorable circumstances the more I noticed, looking back, the sharper I was becoming; I was gaining more confidence, I forced myself to learn more and become more. I figured out ways to put myself in position to further the education I needed and the more poised I became when tough times surfaced.

I thought to myself surely if I never compromise, no matter what was at stake, I’ll overcome all my adversity soon. I had no idea my experience after that would lead me through a path of hopelessness, heartbreak, two failed marriages, and homelessness for a little over 3yrs. It seemed like I was trapped in a whirlwind spiraling out of control. It took everything I had in me but I never gave up and before I knew it, a chain of events took place that caused me to reset, refocus, rebrand, and re-launch.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?

I wish I was privileged to have the capital to give me somewhat of a running start or fund one of the many moving parts and I never raised capital. I stretched the money I made from barbering, the few shows I was paid for (if they were paid performances), the little revenue I made from album/single sales and streams, and close friends and family whenever it was feasible. It’s been a constant uphill battle going against all odds, fear, and impossibilities.
