We were lucky to catch up with Steve Pillberg recently and have shared our conversation below.
Steve , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
Well out of so many, one thing my parents did right was allow my creativity to grow and blossom. I was raised by my mother, stepfather, and was with my pops on weekends until he moved to Las Vegas, then it was summers. But they all let me live out my ideas from being a kid using my eye to draw to taking photography classes in high school and understanding lighting. Even when I wanted to be Ninja Batman one year for Halloween they encouraged my need to be creative differently and I definitely appreciate that because it gave me the anything- is -possible & and I- can -create – anything attitude that I have today.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello world. I go by the name Steve Pillberg. I love to shoot anything my eye, or brain, deems beautiful but I specialize in cover shoots and boudoir photography. I got my start professionally as a camera man for a music production company before taking a chance on my self and starting my own media company, ACEFAM Photography, in 2020. Right after starting I got my first interview with an affiliated publication of Canvas and I ended laste year having a spot at a big wedding convention in Las Vegas and securing multiple clients which is something I’m pretty proud of
Any advice for managing a team?
It’s always tough getting a group of people on the same page at the same time so the main thing to remember is that everyone came together for a common goal and the only way to reach that goal is together. I find that the way to keep morale is by leading by example. Your energy is contagious and your team is a reflection of you so you have to keep a positive attitude and not be afraid to be in the trenches.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
I hate to sound cliche but the best source of new clients is and has always been word of mouth. I’ve paid for ads and other things but people will always talk and share the great work that was done for them to as many people that will listen. Odds are a few out of that many will definitely be interested in getting great work done as well!
