Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jeff Maronilla-Seva Quintano. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jeff, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
I am blessed to be raised by two amazing people who stuck together through thick and thin. Our family business requires both of them to be up at 4am and to work even if they are not feeling well. They were dedicated to sending my siblings and I to the top schools in the Philippines even if finances were tight. They did all these in honorable ways and without stepping on someone’s toes.
These examples from them have always been my inspiration. It taught me that love, faith and doing your part will get you through anything.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a Filipino Tattoo Artist based in San Jose California who migrated to the US from the Philippines in 2018.
The community I serve are Filipinos who want to reconnect to their roots. I specialize in one of the ancient scripts of the Philippines called Baybayin. As a part of the revival of these writing systems, I released a workbook about it in 2021. It had great feedback and brought me more opportunities to promote my advocacy.
It is very rewarding to see that more people are getting tattooed with Baybayin because it helps spread awareness and shows our culture and ethnicity being valued.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The goal is to share the knowledge to the next generation and to inspire others to appreciate and learn more about our own culture.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Most rewarding aspect of being a Creative is when we see that the body of work we put out contributes and adds value to the community we serve.
