We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Vito Glazers a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Vito, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My mission is to help creators own and share their story. In the not so distant past, a small group of media companies owned all the platforms and channels where a story could be told.
If you could not convince a producer or executive to give you an opportunity on one of those channels, your story would be forever forgotten.
The rise in social media gave people a platform to share their stories, but in a world where everyone has a platform, again, the stories of creators were lost in a sea of selfies and photos of lattes, salads and sandwiches.
This is what inspired the mission behind Glazers Media; a place where people and brands can not just share, but own and amplify their stories through news and media like podcasts, self published books, independently produced and distributed television and film media, and more.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Vito Glazers and I’m the 37 year old CEO of Glazers Media in West Hollywood, California.
I got into the creative industry originally as an advertising broker. After experiencing the very early effects of Cancel Culture because of a competitor who attacked my name and reputation online, I learned the importance of sharing your story, and how to use media and publicity to amplify important truths.
Later I appeared on some reality television shows and as years went by, I learned to navigate the public relations industry as much more than a publicist, but a story teller and builder of reputations.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
The number one mistakes creators make, is they don’t know how they will make money. Focusing on what audiences wanted and needed early on in social media, I was able to craft offers that gave my audience the ability to support my work and gave me the resources to give them value.
With resources, I was able to work on creating stories, both written and in various forms of content, and amplify them through press, social media, and even through television and films.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
The offers have changed over time, but the important thing to keep track of is how they have stayed the same. It has always been about helping people and brands connect with audiences through great stories.
