We caught up with the brilliant and insightful DJ Hov a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, DJ thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.

I like to say I have to take risk everyday , not knowing the outcome of my income of a monthly basis all while trying to strive to make my passion my career..

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I stepped into this industry around 8 years ago , creating sound vibes for house parties , which eventually transitioned into doing various things such as hookah bars , artist shows , corporate events etc. I provide music to help better any type of events using my own speaker and sound set ups. Still building and investing in my sounds. I feel as if the way I select my music and how I’m able to adapt in many rooms with the sounds I play set me apart from many because Iam an open sponge which allows me to expand my sounds to many different cultures and events. Iam most proud of how far I have come and all the opportunities that can still be presented to me. I’m proud that I’m trying to overcome the problems that were presented when Covid hit and that as long as I keep pushing and striving , there are no limits to what I can accomplish.

How did you build your audience on social media?

Iam still learning in every aspect about building my audience on social media but it is coming along. I would say what works for me is being consistent , creative , and not scared to make that post even if I’m unsure if it’s a “great post” or not. I sometimes get lost in trying to find the perfect post instead of making content posting and working on the next. So for myself I make as much content that comes to mind and post it regardless of how I feel , in my mind it only takes 1 person to like it.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect for me is being able to be free in a sense of answering to myself , working for myself , and having time for my family. We don’t get back time so anyway I can create a healthy/wealthy situation for me and my family will always be a rewarding factor.
