We recently connected with Paige Lowe and have shared our conversation below.
Paige , appreciate you joining us today. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
As a salon owner, I frequently think about what it would be like to be an employee again. I thought about what life was like before the salon opened, back when I was an employee at another salon. I felt overworked, exhausted, and sadly unappreciated. Then I snap back into the present and feel this is my why. I will always remember why I wanted to start this in the first place. I am happier being a business owner because I get to provide the things I wish I had as an employee. I’ve been an educator/trainer for 6 out of the 10 years I’ve been in this industry. I now not only get to train new stylists for my salon, but I get give that skill set to my future trainers to preserve their bodies behind the chair as well. I get to not only think about the present, but also the future happiness of my employees and a way for them to earn a beautiful living for many years to come.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am Paige Crews Lowe. I own Glam Street Salon Libertyville. I have a business partner Pam Meliksetyan who is my ride or die work wife, and together we’ve created a beautiful salon and team. I have been in the beauty industry for 10 years, and never looked back. This has always been my future ever since I started beauty school; I’ve always wanted to provide services where I can make someone feel amazing. I love that I’m able to make someone feel AND look that way. We provide legendary customer service and consultations, which lead to the client receiving an excellent guest experience. I’m proud of our consistency as a team, and the love and care that anyone can see when they walk through our doors.

How’d you meet your business partner?
I met Pam when I was in my own training program at the salon her and I both worked at many years ago. Her and I have always gotten along, and towards the end of our time there had the same values and desires for the future of our careers. Her and I made this leap together to create a brand of our own and make our dreams into a reality.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
My advice to anyone building a presence on social media is be authentically YOU. People don’t buy into what you’re selling them, they buy into you as a human. People want to see you genuinely and to not put up a front on only what you want to be seen like.
