We were lucky to catch up with Carnisa Allen recently and have shared our conversation below.
Carnisa, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Success is a topic that’s always fascinated me. From what I’ve learned, it takes a mix of several qualities to achieve it. You’ve got to be willing to work hard and persevere through the tough times. But, I believe the most important thing is having a clear sense of purpose and a strong vision of what you want to accomplish. Once you’ve got that, everything else falls into place.
Of course, there are always going to be obstacles and failures along the way. But, I think it’s important to embrace those experiences as opportunities to learn and grow. It’s never easy to bounce back from failure, but it’s necessary to keep moving forward.
One of the things that have helped me stay on track is prioritizing what’s most important to me. This has helped me stay disciplined and focused on my goals, even when things get tough. And, speaking of goals, setting clear ones is essential to achieving success. Without goals, it’s tough to know where you’re headed or how to get there.
Success is a journey that takes time and effort. But, if you’ve got the passion and determination to pursue your dreams, anything is possible.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hey there, I’m Carnisa Allen, and I like to think of myself as a Jill of all trades! My journey to entrepreneurship started with PXL Booth while working full-time as a Licensed DC Property Manager. Our mission at PXL Booth was simple – to capture memories that last a lifetime. Unfortunately, like many others, we took a hit during COVID-19, and I lost my job in February of 2021 due to downsizing. But hey, when one door closes, another opens!
My supportive husband encouraged me to invest in real estate, and that’s when I started our first short term rental property in Baltimore, MD. My primary goal was to support the travel nurses that were putting their lives on the line to fight COVID, and it was a huge success. So, I opened another rental space within 6 months on the other side of the country in San Antonio, TX. And just like that, I became a Superhost on the AirBNB platform and helped others get started in their short term rental journey.
As the quarantine lasted longer and longer, my love for travel grew more and more. I was one of the crazy people that jumped on a plane to go to Mexico in the midst of a pandemic. But hey, life’s too short to stay in one place, am I right? I’ve always been the planner of the group, so becoming a travel advisor felt like the natural next step. Since becoming an advisor, I’ve obtained many destination certifications, brand certifications, created partnerships with different resorts and DMCs. And, within my 2 years at Heiress Entertainment & Travel, I’ve become the #3 travel advisor in the agency!
I owe much of my success to my family, friends, and followers. I have a community that truly supports everything I do, whether it’s booking my services, engaging with my social media, or referring their family and friends (75% of my businesses are referrals). Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Well, I’ve got to say, the best source of new clients for me has been the power of the referral! I mean, who doesn’t love a good word-of-mouth recommendation? 75% of my businesses come from referrals from my family, friends, and followers, and I couldn’t be more grateful. It’s amazing to see how one satisfied client can lead to a chain reaction of new clients. So, if you’re happy with my services, spread the word! Who knows, you might just end up being responsible for my next big success story.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Oh, that’s easy – it’s my infectious energy and passion for what I do! I mean, who wouldn’t want to work with someone who’s enthusiastic about creating unforgettable experiences for their clients? Plus, my background in real estate and experience with short term rentals has definitely given me a unique perspective in the travel industry.
But, I think what really helped me build my reputation was my commitment to providing top-notch service and going above and beyond for my clients. I always make sure to listen to their needs and preferences and tailor my recommendations accordingly.
At the end of the day, I believe building a reputation is all about being authentic, genuine, and delivering on your promises. And, of course, having a bit of fun along the way!
