We recently connected with Omoniola Oladimeji and have shared our conversation below.
Omoniola, appreciate you joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
As a content creator and business woman, I wishes to leave a legacy that focuses on generational wealth for my underprivileged community. Which ultimately means using my skills and expertise to help others build a better future for themselves and their families.
In order to achieve this goal, I am committed to providing education and mentorship opportunities to those who may not have access to traditional pathways of success. This involves offering training programs on business essentials for my hairstyling business including – hair care and styling, as well as business and financial skills that can help people start and grow their own enterprises.
In addition to these practical skills, I also believes in promoting a mindset of abundance and empowerment, helping people to see their own potential and value in the world. By inspiring others to believe in themselves and their ability to create positive change, I hope to create a ripple effect that will continue to impact generations to come.
Ultimately, my legacy as a content creator and business woman will be defined by the impact I have on the lives of others. By focusing on generational wealth and empowerment, I hopes to create a legacy that will endure far beyond my own lifetime, and that will inspire others to continue any work i’ve started building for a more just and equitable world for all.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi my name is Omoniola Oladimeji and I am the CEO of MOS EXTENSIONS & Miss Olaa Stylez, as well as the founder and host of FMQ Talks – a Podcast created to display my love for God, People, and Wisdom. Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
On July 31, 2021, I received the devastating news that I had lost my job. At first, I was shocked and scared about what this meant for my future. But as the days passed, I realized that this could be an opportunity for me to take control of my life and pursue my true passion.
For years, I had dreamed of starting my own business in the hair care industry. I had a natural talent for hairstyling and a deep knowledge of different hair types and textures. I had also seen a growing demand for high-quality hair extensions, and knew that there was a gap in the market for a brand that offered affordable, high-quality hair products that were ethically sourced and produced.
With this in mind, I decided to take the leap and launch my own e-commerce store for hair extensions. I poured my heart and soul into building my brand, researching suppliers, and creating a marketing strategy that would help me reach my target audience.
At the same time, I also started taking on more clients as a full-time hairstylist, using my skills to help people look and feel their best. I worked hard to build a reputation for myself as a trusted and talented stylist, and soon began to see a steady stream of clients coming through my doors.
As the months passed, my business began to grow and thrive. I was able to connect with customers all over the world, offering them high-quality hair products that they could feel good about buying. And as my reputation as a hairstylist continued to spread, I found myself with a full calendar of clients who trusted me to transform their look and help them feel confident and beautiful.
Looking back on that day in July when I lost my job, I realize now that it was the push I needed to take control of my life and pursue my dreams. It wasn’t easy, and there were certainly challenges along the way, but I am proud of what I have accomplished and excited for what the future holds. I am living proof that with hard work, determination, and a little bit of faith, anything is possible.
How did you build your audience on social media?
As an entrepreneur many of us face major challenges when it comes to acquiring clients. I knew that there were many other hair care brands out there, and that it would be difficult to stand out from the crowd.
That’s when I decided to focus on building a strong social media presence for my brand. I started by creating profiles on all the major platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. I then began to post regularly, sharing images of my work, tutorials on hair care and styling, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of my business.
At first, I didn’t see much of a response. But I kept at it, experimenting with different types of content and engaging with my followers. I responded to comments and direct messages, offering advice and answering questions. I also collaborated with other influencers and brands in the hair care industry, reaching new audiences and building my network.
Slowly but surely, my social media following began to grow. I started to see more engagement on my posts, and more people were sharing and commenting on my content. And as my following grew, so did my sales. People were drawn to my brand because of the high-quality content I was sharing, and they trusted my because I was authentic and transparent.
Over time, my social media presence became a key driver of my business success. I was able to connect with customers all over the world, offering them high-quality hair products that they could feel good about buying. And by staying true to my values and focusing on building a community of engaged followers, I was able to create a loyal customer base that continued to support my brand year after year.
Looking back on my journey, I realized that building a strong social media presence was one of the most important things I did for my business. By staying consistent, authentic, and engaging, I was able to connect with customers in a meaningful way and build a brand that people truly loved and trusted.
